The 5 of us who ate at this restaurant just recently, had all heard nothing but great reviews but wow, we were all very disappointed. We were offered off the menu items that turned out being very limited in quantity & we ended up having to change our choices as there was never any left. Three of us opted for... More

Far and away my favourite restaurant in Montreal! I come to town usually twice a year from Vancouver and I never miss a stop at the Tuck Shop. Outstanding service (especially from our server/bartender last night Jonathan) right from the get go. Lovely hostess took our coats and welcomed us into this warm room. Great decor, great ambiance... always a... More

I have been to the Tuck Shop several times with girlfriends and ranted and raved about how great the food was. My husband and friends were excited to go for the first time to try it out, but unfortunately we had a negative experience...on a week night. What nobody seems to review is the fact there are now two seatings-6:30... More

We loved this farm to table restaurant! The food (I had Montreal Steak) was great! The martini was very creative, and we even had dessert. If you like an eclectic menu with some tasty surprises make a reservation at Tuck Shop!

We went there on a recommendation and food wise we weren't disappointed. The presentation was nice and the plates full of freshness. My tummy was happy. :) Some cons are the price and the ambiance. The menu is wayyy overpriced for what you're getting. As for the ambiance, it's better for a gang of friends than a romantic diner. It's... More

We recently booked diner at Tuck Shop and we were seated in front of the Chef's bar. We were entertained in watching our appetizers prepared and discussed directly with the Chef in how he came up with some of the dish ideas. Flavourful, presentable, friendly staff and excellent service. Food is well worth every penny.

The food is always cooked perfectly. If your a fan of oysters, there is always a great, tasty selection. Atmosphere, food quality and staff attentiveness is what truly makes this a great experience.

We were fortunate to get a reservation on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was low key yet hip. The food was terrific. Our starter was a bruschetta with mushrooms and cheese. We had been informed that the chef forages for his own mushrooms. It was evident as the mushroom were the most flavorful that I've ever eaten. Onto the entries.... More

We dined at Tuck Shop on the night of the U.S. election. We weren't the only ones taking a break from politics. At 9:00 PM the place was full. Located on the western end of Notre Dame in Little Burgundy, Tuck Shop looks good. Lots of subway tiles, shimmering candles and soft lighting. We sat at the bar which is... More

Visited this terrific restaurant recently for the 3rd or 4th time and once again sat at the back at the food prep bar...the best seat in the house, from my perspective. Once again the meal was fantastic from beginning to end, right from the steak tartare (hard to resist when it's being prepared right in front of you) to the... More

Staying in Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Sud-Ouest (Southwest District)
Once the core of industrialised Montreal, the factories and historic buildings of Le Sud-Ouest have been renovated into homes, museums, and small businesses. The rejuvenated landscape has put its Saint-Henri district in vogue, with cutting-edge galleries and an ever-expanding network of restaurants. Foodies can especially delight in the mom-and-pop shops in Little Burgundy, or at the Atwater Market, where outdoor stalls sell fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat, street vendors have menus of hot fish and wine, and the indoor market offers chocolate, breads, and coffee beans. Dominated by the gentle waters of the Lachine Canal, Le Sud-Ouest is still very much an outdoor town, with a number of pedestrian-only bridges traversing the waters, bike paths along the canal with views of the Leisure Boats, and massive green spaces like Angrignon Park to stop for a picnic, or to play a sport.
