Decent cafe just a few blocks away from Mont-Royal, Cafe Plume is pretty much one of the first coffee shops you see as you make your way into the French Quarter. There are also a ton of ppl here pretending to do work on their laptops. That's how you know it's a really good coffee shop.

This cafe has become my favourite spot, the Latte is excellent! It is smaller in size but very nice. Lots of light with a view of Mount Royal Park just down the street. There are nice green plants around the cafe with art hanging on a brick wall and a chic cafe feel. The staff here is very friendly and... More

I have been a client of Café la Plume since it first opened. I continue to visit them when I am back in Montreal. It's a perfect place to relax and let the sunshine in as you can see the mountain from their window and main door. It's truly a very cool place and they cater as well to Lactose... More

I look for specialty coffee places anywhere I go. Although Plume doesn't use pour-over method to make coffee, they use excellent beans for their espresso which makes a perfect cappuccino or cortado.

If you're in to light roasts that give you that yellowy crema then this is maybe for you. Small place, in a pleasant location opposite the park. A basic array of sandwiches and the like, but nothing to write home about particularly, perhaps with the exception of the veggie patty sandwich. The art on the walls is pretty cringeworthy, but... Café Plume is a great little spot for a coffee which was of a very high standard and I am a coffee snob. The staff were friendly and the décor trendy and comfortable.

High quality coffee. Great product offering. Barista's on point. Supports local artist through monthly expositions on it's wall!

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
