Waiting kills the evening. No matter how good the food is, period. You expect to have to wait in a sushi bar. Food is made to order. But when take out takes precedence over the restaurant tables, when the water boy fill up your glass at least 10 times before the meal arrives. When you own waiter does not fight... More

You can bring your own wine...but if you forget, there's a liquor store two doors down. How convenient. Great food. Accommodated my gluten free. I ate until my sides were stuff. And it was all so good and so flavourful! My boyfriend had a sushi 3 course meal and loved it. I had chicken teriyaki with gluten free sauce and... More

I'm a big fan of Kazumi, close to home, BYOW, great quality sushi, but... We went on the Sunday evening before Victoria Day. The restaurant was only half occupied and it took quite some time for us to receive our sushi rolls. Also, maybe it's just me, but the rolls got smaller compared to the last time I was there.... We have a great love of sushi and Kazumi Sushi Lounge was recommended to us by our Airbnb hosts. From the moment we arrived, we knew this gem would be a place to remember - a superb ikebana arrangement graced the foyer. Our server (at the sushi bar) made us feel very welcome. We marvelled as each new surprise and... More

I found the restaurant too crowded, the tables are just packed to get the most people in! Therefore the noise level is so high that you can barely hear the people you are supposed to be having a nice enjoyable evening out with. Reservations are a must on weekends. We went on a Friday night, the restaurant was full with... More

Excellent choice of appetizers, a great selection of some classic and some unique Sushi and Sashimi and you can bring your own wine and Sake. Don't forget the desert menu. Some very special surprises in there. The only problem is that it is really far from downtown other wise this place would have a lone up in front of the door... More

One of the best sushis I have ever eaten. They are definitely the best in the east end of Montreal. All the ingredients are fresh and the food is delicious. Ideal place to go with a friend or with a date, just make sure you make a reservation if you go during the weekend! The only thing they could work... More

We tried this restaurant twice in the last 2 months and each time we were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good, nice presentations and good quality. You will find the usual sushi as well as some chief creations all of them very tasty a real delight. We read some reviews about some issues with the service but in our... More

I may be a little out of the way, but it's well worth it. It may not be on the plateau or the old port, but it's worth the drive. The sushi's were excellent and the deserts were great!. If I had to summarize this restaurant, it would be attention to detail! The plates were nicely decorated, especially the speciality... More

Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighbourhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighbourhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
