This place is amazing, the food is at best, some dishes over priced, and the service is good. Recommended

This place has the perfect combination of professional service, excellent food and atmosphere. We were there a few times and we always want to go back! The only problem: very difficult to get a table because they are very busy, good for them! In the summer we are in luck, they have a very nice terrace with more tables. One... More

Excellent food whatever you order. The "fatteh" is particularly good, I recommend the lamb one. Authentic Middle Eastern food. Good service and nice ambiance too. We went several times and were never disappointed. The price is the reason I am giving it 4 and not 5 stars. It's so overpriced. I would give it low rating on value for money.

Food is excellent, in the summer the terasse is perfect. Good service, fresh food, great taste. Expensive but worth it

Imaginative cuisine, excellent service, fabulous variety of dishes. Very nice decor and comfortable seatings. Very lively atmosphere starting around 21:00 but still possible to have a private conversation with friends.

Absolutely fabulous Syrian restaurant offers the typical Middle Eastern dishes, but with their own slightly different interpretation. The decoration is lovely and great for a romantic date or a night out with friends. For me it was definitely a Montreal highlight.

Been waiting for a while to try this place out, and a birthday celebration was a great way. I'd suggest to go for the tasting menu, it's well worth it and so many dishes. Lucky for us we were seating in Vitos section, he's a top notch funny waiter who goes the extra mile and will never make you a... More

Great consistant food and service. I'd suggest going for a nice dinner or for an occasion. Expect to spend about 50-75$ per person for food (not including alcohol). The food is worth the price.

Food is simply delicious.... one of the best restaurants I've visited lately. Plates are very creative and high quality (the Fattoush salad, mezzes and the lamb are out of this word). Cocktails are also creative and with very interesting flavors (try the Aleppo Gin Sour or the Hisbiscus Sipper). Staff and manager very friendly. Top of our list. If we... More

So happy we were able to get a table tonight. Place was packed on a Sunday night! Food and service and decor spectacular! I will come back next time in Montreal. Flavours amazing! Highly recommend, wish they would open in Toronto!!

Damas, an upscale Syrian restaurant located on Avenue Van Horne. You will be charmed by the Oriental decor and most impressed by their refined and rich cuisine. This modern but authentic gastronomy will make your mouth water with all their specialties starting from the fattouche, the appetizing mouth-melting lamb leg to the cherry kebab. The blend of aromas and the tasting of the delicious preparations will make the experience worthwhile.

Staying in Outremont

Neighbourhood Profile
Outremont, a quaint residential district just north of Downtown, is a peaceful, low-key setting known for its mod cafes and bistros, and some of the best walking territory Montreal has to offer. Visitors can explore the flowering parks and manor estates of Maplewood Street, then window-shop the popular bakeries and coffeehouses on main arteries of Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine and Rue Van Horne. The modern granola feel is complemented by contemporary art exhibitions, rotating theatre productions, and a welcoming public library. Also a nexus for the city's Hasidic Jewish culture, Outremont's diversity resounds in its cuisine and in its architecture. Visit the colorful neighbourhood to take advantage of boutique shopping on Avenue Laurier, or to test the artisanal flavors of Avenue Bernard, braving a salmon burger on a squid-ink bun or accommodating your sweet tooth with a provincial chômeur pudding. A visit to Outremont is a relaxing day.
