This is foodie heaven! All dishes are prepared from local produce, 'cuisine de terroir' as it is called in these parts (roughly translating as the flavor of the soil) and what a good job they do of it! This was my second visit -- I'll definitely be going again, and yet again! For those like me who find it hard... More

I went to this restaurant with about two dozen work colleagues. The waiter was entertaining and the food delicious. Tried the five course tasting menu and greatly enjoy the variety of excellently prepared courses from soup to dessert. Great value for the money and you bring your own wine so no inflated alcohol prices :)

I login (register) just to review this terrible restaurant from last night. So you can tell how much I hated it. ;)) I have NO DIEA why my friend call dinner at this restaurant. I am really unhappy about it. FOOD- 1-Terrible. You will wait 2 hours to eat cheap bread then you will be full.. then they will bring... More

We went there to celebrate a friend's birthday. Despite no music playing, this place is extremely loud. The food was mediocre. I had the five course table d'hote and was disappointed by three of the four courses. The service was terrible. We did not all get served at the same time, and we had to wait between 30 and 45... I have been waiting to check this place out for a few weeks, and finally went with 3 people. The interior is cozy and friendly, the service excellent. Friendly, helpful staff that also gives you space when you need it. The food was hard to pick. I wanted everything on the menu. Int he end, my boyfriend had the 5... More

This place must be great with friends out to celebrate something: the food is quite good, the menu is interesting, the service is friendly and attentive and it's "bring your own wine". I went this for a business dinner and the noise level was a serious problem - we could not really hear eachother. We chose the five-course menu dégustation,... More

We went to the french connection restaurant for my friend birthday, even if gatronomic appetizers was very good, the main course was not at the level of the first course. Dessert are not very original but we appreciate the team who give us a friendly atmosphere. We eat very well for 50$ and we apprciate the Apportez votre vin ^^

Two menus, 3 ($39) and 5 ($49) services. A chosen appetizer, a choice appetizer and main course made from local fares. Reasonable service, very good, bring your own wine. The servings are just right, but you will likely go for a dessert. Hence, the 5 service menu is the way to go. Best Confit de canard I had in Montreal... More

This stylishly decorated BYOB bistro has a casual feel, yet it's clear that food is taken very seriously indeed here. The menu changes daily, and on the night we visited I was impressed by the innovative tweaks in each item. I think my favourite dish of the evening was the appetiser I chose: venison tartare with wasabi peas. What a... More

Small place. Noise fueled by wine and birthday celebrations the night we were there. Our server, a very charming young lady, was very able to explain everything on the menu in English (so don't worry if you don't speak French). We had the 5 course; our friends had the 3 course. Starters included an amuse bouche, abison tartare, a pan fried... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
