I have been twice to this restaurant. Service is ok. Its an internet café with ok food. The first time I came here I had the salmon bagel. This time I came and had the goat cheese croutons with the dried tomato as an appetizer. Its a generous portion and comes with a salad. I also had the brownie with... More

They offer daily specials, as well as a small but good menu. Almost always have 2 choices of good soup and increadible desserts. Personal fav: their warm boudin appetizer, served with carmelized onions, toasted baguette, olives, apple and giant capers. Can't go wrong with their burrito choices (esp if you're really hungry.). Their salads always have tender greens with lots... More

This place is very unique. It's perfect for studying, reading and long conversation. The service isn't the fastest I saw but I wasn't bother at all because there's plenty of thing to look at, books and decor. With a cozy and intimate atmosphere, this is perfect for couple and it's really not expensive. I took a burrito and it was... More

This cafe was a couple blocks from our B & B and the menu looked to be what we were looking for. Unfortunately, there was only one waitress on the floor for the entire cafe (she had told us that others simply did not show up!) and the cafe was full of patrons. Because of this, our wait to be... We ate dinner here our first night in Montreal while staying at the amazing A la Carte B&B. Everything was very fresh (I had a warm goat cheese salad with pear etc), the wine was reasonably priced. The best was the cheese fondue! Only one waitress but she hustled and made us feel welcome helping interpret the French menu into... More

We went to the Café Lézard on a Sunday night because they had a jazz group playing. The place is nice, the food OK (the gazpacho was excellent), the canard confit on a salad was good but a bit greasy and there was too much lettuce (I felt like a rabbit:-). The service was excellent and pleasant and the jazz... More

A nice small place where the locals eat good fresh food. We went late after arriving at our B&B (our proprietor recommended it). The neighborhood has a lot of competition so many restaurants are only half full. Not this place. The salad had melon and strawberries with a mild vinigarette that was superb! If you are on Rue Masson, go... More

Funky little place the salads are great, loaded with fresh ingredients. I liked the French onion soup. My favorite thing was dessert. The opera cake was out of this world, loaded with coffee flavor. There is live music on some nights

Staying in Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie

Neighbourhood Profile
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie has one of Canada's most prominent Italian communities, with Little Italy concentrated along the convivial bends of Saint-Lawrence Boulevard. Known for its fantastic bars and authentic Italian fare, the domain includes the Jean-Talon Market, the largest public market in North America. Open year-round, sunny months see fruit and vegetable stalls set up outside the main chalet, while blustery weather draws crowds indoors to meat and cheese sellers, spices and truffles stalls, and for regional delicacies such as rare Charlevoix lamb. While the market dictates what's fresh for local restaurateurs, visitors can please more than their palates, taking in the Renaissance architecture and frescos of Madonna della Difesa, the picturesque Rue Saint-Rominique with its cheerful homes and splendid gardens, or the ornamented thoroughfare of Plaza Saint-Hubert.
