I am willing to put up with a lot for $1 oysters but the service here is so bad that it's just not worth it.

This small, jazz-ambient restaurant, a minute next to metro Côte-des-neiges, offers great french cuisine and large variety of wines. Service was good, and bilingual, and we did not wait to long for our meals. Overall a great place to eat, particularly for dates. And of course, 1$ oysters are a great entrée to share with friends!

My husband and I traveled to Montreal with another couple and found this spot after walking around Mont Royal. The main lunch rush was over and we had a very nice, quiet meal to ourselves. We had French onion soup (perfect in my opinion, with not too much cheese and broth flavorful but in no way salty), croque monsieur, and... More

Do not go to this restaurant. It's overrated, overpriced, service is slow, confusing, fake, and the staff is unwilling to accept criticism. I started with the $1.00 oysters (shells and dirt are free of charge), followed by all you can eat mussels (one style: salty and overcooked). I thought that they might redeem themselves with desert, so I ordered a... More

Intrigued by the unusual name (literally, gun-slinging uncles) as much as by the gorgeous on-line pictures of seafood, my wife and I decided to have a leisurely dinnertime there, on a summery Saturday evening. Informal brasserie atmosphere in one of my favourite spots in Montreal, the stretch of Côte-des-Neiges just south of Queen Mary Road. There were no free tables... More

My wife and I ate there yesterday evening on the recommendation of some friends and we couldn't have been more pleased. Neither of us had ever heard of it before - don't know how long it's been there, but from the rather broad yet selective menu and from the dishes we had, I would say that it is a keeper!... More

We went as a group for lunch. The food was good. The tomato soup was a tomato sauce but the salmon tartar was excellent. The service was OK and the atmosphere was great for a group lunch. I found it a little pricey for lunch: each entree was over 20$ (appetizer included).

Loved it,and found the staff friendly and prompt (maybe because we were a bit earlier than the dinner rush?). Great atmosphere and food, although the dining room was too warm. I would go again!

The service was terrible. First, we had booked a table and when we arrived it was not available! Waiters were smiling, nice, but...2 times, they offered mistakenly the bread to the wrong table. For us, they forgot the bread. Moreover, they gave us the wrong plates, then they went back to the kitchen and fixed it! The bread was a... More

Staying in Parc du Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Parc du Mont-Royal
Montreal was named for this hilly highland, where the tallest spot in the city overlooks its most extensive parkland. The greenspace of Parc du Mont-Royal is an outdoorsman's dream, with hiking trails and nature walks that cater to every season and level of athlete. In the winter, cross-country skiers, tobogganers, and ice skaters don their equipment by Beaver Lake and its pavilion, while the warmer months bring families and competitors to the pitches of Jeanne-Mance Park for tennis, soccer, football, baseball, volleyball, or a dip in the community pool. A perfect spot for a stroll or a picnic, the forest foliage is dotted with sculpture art and offers views of some of Mont-Royal's oldest edifices, the towering St. Joseph's Oratory and the mausoleums of Notre-Dame-des-Neiges. Home to musical celebrations and twilight snowshoeing alike, visit here to walk, write, rest, think, or just be.
