Unfortunately I live over 3,000 miles away from The Mon Cafe, otherwise I would grow fat and happy coming here every morning for croissants, cappuccino and a chat. We were in Montreal for a brief visit before going on to do Christmas visits in Ontario, and TMC was just round the corner from our hotel. The filled croissants were so... More

We stopped in for breakfast around 9 on a weekday and the cafe was pretty quiet. The menu is small, a few traditional pastries,fresh-made muffins and a couple breakfast options. We had the house specialty an open-face croissant with bacon, lettuce and tomato and a sliced hard boiled egg. A pretty tasty open-faced sandwich. As some have mentioned, the trip... More

Mon cafe is a typical coffee and pastries shop, with a bit of a fair for specialty coffee preparations. Seating inside for about 20. Nothing special, but a welcome place to take a break from touristing the old city.

We came in on a Sunday morning at peak brunch time and the place was empty. The girl at the counter explained what they had. We had the brunch of the day, which was eggs benedict, and a café latte. This is a small café and not a fancy restaurant so we did not expect much, but we were pleasantly... More

We went here twice while in Montreal, the service was fabulous. The man working there was willing to explain anything we had questions on. The croissants were delicious, the breakfast sandwiches were fresh and extremely satisfying. Their cups of tea and coffee are GIANT. I was so impressed with the food and the prices here. They have a nice amount... More

Great coffee, excellent breakfast items and inexpensive. Bagel and croissant breakfast sandwiches made fresh to order. Wonderful find.

I was taken to visit the Mon Cafe as the reviews on trip advisor were very positive. The cafe is small with what look to be locally prepared food including cakes, cookies etc... The staff were lovely, the coffee was good but not exceptional and the food was nice but not amazing. All in all it always a perfectly fine... More

This quaint cafe was walking distance from our hotel and I'm so glad we stumbled upon it. The coffee was so good we had to ask the waiter, who turned out to be the owner. We ordered another round of coffee and more croissants because it was that good. I even asked the owner to please set up a location... More

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this gem of a café. Their service was excellent. Food great! Coffee absolutely delish...so much so, we bought a 5lb bag home.

Staying in Quartier International

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier International
Designed to connect and beautify unused space, today the Quartier International is like a transversal piece of modern art. The distinctive design flair is most apparent at its focal point, the Palais des Congres, a convention centre and retail space with a multi-coloured glass exterior and an equally bold interior motif. Outdoors too, the Quartier is friendly towards public art exhibits along its stylish, plotted city squares, with extra-wide sidewalks meant to encourage long strolls and shaded benches available for absorbing the atmosphere. Fresh air and promenades characterise the area, from the foliage of Victoria Square to the fountain of Place Jean-Paul Riopelle, while the restaurants along Rue Saint-Antonie Ouest and Metro stops modeled in the Parisian style give off European glamour.
