We enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere of this lunch spot. Bilingual, pleasant, and fast service. Food was hot, tasty and good.

Wanted to like this place but the food and service was horrible. It took litterly 15 mins just for someone to come and speak with us after seating us down at the table. I honestly think the only reason why they came over to speak with us is because we were putting on our jackets to leave. We decided to... More

Long benches form one side of the restaurant that offers a hand-written menu on the blackboard providing a casual. relaxed atmosphere. Items on the menu include - three kinds of soup in three sizes, four sandwiches and three kinds of salad. All are listed on the blackboard. This is a bright, inviting lunch spot which offers locally sourced food in... More

It is a well- designed and chic place off the main tourist trail. It gives the impression that the attention is given to the details. The menu is small. The Gazpacho I tried, was thick and delicious but the cheese and bread was simply a disaster, salad department delivered less than expected. The service was good.It is a good place... More

The spot is beautiful and bright, full of light and quietness. We opted for a cold soup of beet, tomate, orange & Ginger and a hot one called Repas. Both were very good. I felt the price was high. The service was very good. They open from 11 to 3.30pm.

Soups are warm, home made and delicious. There Unemployed Pudding is excellent and rounds out a meal so nicely. The maple flavour is so heavenly!

Perfect comfort food on a snowy afternoon. Lots of families with kids finding shelter for a good meal. Service was a bit scattered, but it all worked out. The soups and sandwiches are always worth trying something new.

This was one of my usual lunch haunts when visiting Montreal on business. Because they are using fresh ingredients, the menu changes every day. Regardless I was always able to find a soup and salad that met my dietary restrictions. Take out is available when they are really busy, between 12-1300 weekdays.

Ate here today with a business colleague. The front door on Wellington is closer but you can enter from the sushi shop next door or around the corner on King. The beet soup was great!! Love being able to have a lighter lunch. You can do full or half servings. Paired it with a grilled cheese which was very tasty.... More

Menu changes daily. Lots of fresh (various sizes) soups and (whole/half) sandwiches to choose from. Table service. Great option for a fast, satisfying lunch.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
