This restaurant was one of my favourites when I was a student in Montreal 20+ years ago. Thought I would be nostalgic and went for an old favourite BBQ pork and soya chicken on a bed of rice. I added a dish of stirred fried vegetables, pretending to be more healthy to counter balance the BBQ dish. Not only was... More

I have reviewed this restaurant in the past but have not been back in 2 years since we have moved out of Montreal. We went back two weeks ago and it is still fabulous, thus, deserving of a second review. Yes, the decor is simple and unfancy. The food is excellent! It is fresh, tasty and affordable. It never disappoints.... More

No one in montreal makes lemon chicken like they do! The Singapore noodle is very good too! Decor is basic but the food is delicious and inexpensive! Portions are quite generous too.

I flat out love this restaurant and have for more than 20 years. I first went there to eat noodle soup but with time we branched out. They serve the best soft shell crab in the city; tofu skin rolls unlike any other place; salt and pepper tofu; snow pea shoots; crispy chicken, Singapore Noodles.....I could go on. The service,... Went to this restaurant because it was recommended to me by friends. The food and service is fantastic and the Asian atmosphere in the restaurant is beautiful. They have very very large selection of Asian food so you are sure to find what you crave for.

Have been going to this restaurant for decades. Management has changed a couple of times over the years, the size has been reduced but this time the Cantonese dishes like the Singapore noodles or the chicken with cashews were delivered with speed and smiles and could not be criticized. Honest quality and prices.

The place has been opened forever. It doesn't look like much, used to be bigger and has seen better days. But, you know what? The food tastes great and the prices are honest. Be daring, go in and enjoy!

Unfortunately, this was not one of my better Chinese meal experiences. The food was quite bland and the waiter somewhat disinterested. Our meal wasn’t helped by one of the staff cleaning her feet with a damp cloth at an adjoining table!

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Bakeries, markets, restaurants, and buffets crowd the brightly graffitied streets of Chinatown, the city's aromatic destination for pan-Asian cuisine. Distinguished at its entry points by towering vermillion paifang gates, the compact neighbourhood acts as a focal point for the Chinese community, hectic with educational facilities, cultural centres, acupuncturists, and foreign-language newspapers. Especially vibrant in the warmer months, when the sweet smell of dragon beard candy along the pedestrian walks of Rue de la Gauchetière signal the beginning of the outdoor street fair season, Chinatown is a treasure hunter's dream, with enough knickknack and curiosity shops to tempt even the pickiest shoppers. The convivial vibe picks up after dark, when the area's active nightlife offers evening crowds their choice of drink, dance, and midnight snacks of pho or oysters. Chinatown's mix of new and old, with herbal remedies being sold alongside pop-culture DVDs, gives the area its own animated brand of moxie.
