We made a huge mistake when we decided to have lunch at this place on May 20, 2017. The service was HORRIBLE. The waiter didn't even bother to come check on us. We had to get up a couple of times to ask the waiter to actually do his job. The food took so long and we ordered really quick... More

Should have known by the fact no one was sitting on the patio to avoid the place. Once we ordered I checked on TripAdvisor and knew exactly what to expect. It didn't disappoint. The service was terrible and the food was worse. I don't think they had changed their oil for months and everyone left with a residue they couldn't... More

This restaurant has outdoor seating on the Place Jacques Cartier, as they all do. I would recommend having a drink and watching the people pass by, but I would not recommend the food. The moules marinières were supposed to be cooked in a garlic, butter and wine sauce, but the "sauce" was merely salt water! The fries were underdone and... More

Tourist place with poor service: they didn´t clean our table, slow service and not very efficient but the food was correct and the location great in the middle of the historical area.

Too bad we didn't check the grading before, pretty bad. Service was good and people were nice, but food was just bad. They did offer us a free cake at the end I guess that's nice. I just don't recommend it.

We ordered the sesame tuna at $32 a plate. It wasn't fresh, previously frozen. Had a fishy smell and taste. We ordered the cheese plate for an appetizer which was good. Wouldn't recommend this place. So many other nice restaurants in the area. Way over priced.

Food is really important in Montreal. It's like an art form, really. And they have more restaurants than any other city in North America. I don't know who keeps track of these sorts of things, but that's the party line in Montreal. We ate almost all of our meals at French restaurants – mostly in the Old City – and... More

This place looks very inviting, but it's a scam. I attempted to order the lobster but they told me they did not have any, despite it being the menu item that got me in the door. I asked about the seafood pasta and they told me it had crab in it as well as a few other types of seafood.... More

We visited here with friends. The place was full which we considered was a good sign. We ordered mussels as a starter to share and four steak meals. After waiting about 45 minutes we asked where the mussels were. Next three steaks and the mussels arrived together. We explained that we wanted the mussels as a starter, not to bother... More

Haven't been this disappointed in a restaurant in a very long time, fast food place would have been better! Please go somewhere else, this place is awful! They shouldn't be allowed to be in their location, which is why we tried it. So sad that we didn't leave after the bread basket arrived, that was the first sign of what... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
