I went there with friends for a night out, and the ambiance and atmosphere there was superb! It felt cozy and classy, and we ordered some nice wine for a reasonable price! The food was delicious and the service impecable! Highly recommend.

The food is great, the service (Josiane) curated the experience for me very well. I also really appreciated where the hostess sat me as I was alone and she put me right in front of the band.

I went on a recommendation for a location with both music and food. Modavie was perfect. The hostess, who was lovely, set me up in the front row. The musician that night, Charles Dubuc, played some mean blues guitar. Francois S. took excellent care of...More

Outstanding service and fantastic food. Probably the best steak frites we've ever had. Our server was amazing--extremely friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.

Went there expecting some good food, some jazz music and some good food. The good news is the food wasn't bad but it was just good. Nothing special to note. The most disappointing thing was the mess hall like atmosphere with a cacophony of people...More

A pleasant meal spoilt by an inquisition from the manager who was clearly unhappy that the tip we had chosen to leave was less than the expected 15%. The swordfish steak was hard and inedible and was immediately returned. When it was replaced nearly 10...More

Somehow trip advisor always forwards future customers’ questions to raters rather than the restaurant itself!! Not sure what private dining means. It’s rustic and busy but if you get a window table, it could be romantic.

Rack of lamb is about $40 and it goes down from there. Not cheap, but well worth it.

Description
Seven nights a week, local bands take the stage at Montreal's hottest Jazz bar and bistro. Modavie's spirited setting sets the scene for a night of great tunes, top dining and generous pastis toasting. The bistro's far-reaching wine menu hits just the right notes and helps round off succulent lamb, fish, beef and inspired pasta dishes.
