Well have been going to Ty Briez for years and always looking forward to visiting on my trips to Montreal, however today I was Very Disappointed! The onion soup was good but crepes were less then ok. Not how I remember them at all. The worst part is my daughter ordered plain pasta with cheese and when it arrived it... More

Ty Breizh seems attractive as Creperies in Montreal are not often great places (I have high expectations as a French expatriate). The choice is OK, the "Table d'hote" is just a few cents discount which was a bit disappointing. Crepes are OK, I expected a bit more quality in the ingredients choice and a little effort on the presentation. We... More

I've been going to Creperie Bretonne Ty-Breiz for the last 30 years and have never been disappointed. They have, without question, the BEST onion soup around. Order it "bien cuit" (well cooked) and your tastebuds will be ecstatic. And, they now even have a smaller size which is great as it allows you to enjoy the rest of their wonderful... More

This Creperie has been around for decades. The decor is rural Quebecois with the knotty pine paneling and Tiffany lamps. My wife loves their Onion Soup. They have a lunch special that consists of a soup or salad (or for an up-charge a small onion soup or escargot) a crepe of your choice and coffee. The salad consists of Boston... More

We have been loyal customers for decades. A recent visit was comfortingly similar to every other visit. Spectacular salad and a delicious crepe of choice. Friendly service and a warm ambience. My only suggestion would be that it is time to update. The egg carton ceilings are really dark and everything looks a little dingy. A fresh new look would... More

This places has been around for as long as I know. I moved to Montreal more than 30 years ago and it was already there. Crepes are this very thin version of pancakes. The menu is huge and you can stuff your crepe with anything you want, meat, veggies, cheese, sauce, you can even eat sweet crepes. If you want... More

Found this place by pure fluke. Very Olde school. Decor looks like you are in a restaurant in Paris with everything from the French table cloth to the French tunes. The crêpes ate light crispy ans soo good, don't need much fillings but they are available. Oh did I mention they have the best french onion soup in the city,... More

I have visited the creperie often and there are some items on the menu I love. The salad with garlic sauce is great and I go usually for the escargot a l'ail as appetizer. The cheese omelet for lunch is tasty and filling. I am not so fond of the crepes, but maybe that is just me. The service is... More

We had lunch here somewhat late. The restaurant has a authentic French bistro feel, and very good crepes. My husband had a chicken and brie crepe, and I had the smoked salmon, along with French onion soup and escargots. Everything was well prepared and delicious. To our tastes, we liked the "sweet" crepe best, but the buckwheat crepe was good... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
