Old french brasserie in downtown Montreal. All dishes were excellent, tasty and cooked to perfection. The glasses of Californian Chandon or of French Cotes du Rhone were perfect, both at right temperature too. Bottles of wine though were a bit too pricey to my taste. But clearly a place for celebration a few times a year in French atmosphere and... More

Hello, Thank you for the good review! I'm glad you enjoyed our Valentine's special. We literally put all our love in it ;). As some of our wines are from Europe and especially France, they are quite pricey for the quality and the importation cost, but I'm happy to liked them! Hoping to see you soon again, Alain Creton, restaurant's... More

We went for an evening meal with a group early December and have to say that I won't probably go back. Draft beer is available for $12. At that price, the beer was almost flat and did not tasted right and this for 2 different brand of beer. my neighbor had selected calamari as an appetizer but the waiter put... More

Great place - we were treated nicely and served quickly so that we could make it to the hockey game on time. Kid friendly and terrific service. 3 of us had the lobster special which was delicious and reasonably priced. Highly recommend for classic french Bistro in the downtown core.

We happened across this restaurant by mistake. As we entered there was a waft of cigar smoke as there is a smoking room upstairs. The restaurant was quite quiet for a Saturday night. Those or the only negatives for the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised after fearing we were sitting down to a doomed meal. Staff were very friendly. We... More

A lovely looking Parisenne Café, very cute inside. the menu is limited and the food was uneventful. A limited wine level but with a big show off champagne menu fo0d was un eventful. Dishes were dated. The Chablis was lovely and cold.

Hello, We are very surprised that you found the menu was limited, as it has 13 starters, 23 main dishes added to 9 today's specials, 6 vegetarian dishes and 6 deserts. We can't offer too many dishes, as we make sure of the quality of everything we serve. About the wine, we offer 60 bordeaux, 24 wines from other regions,... More

We went there for a drink after the movies. Granted it is late fall and we had to be inside, but I was struck by the tawdry atmostphere in the interior. It looks like the management has let the place go to seed. Upstairs is a cigar room and disco(?) and the cigar smoke wafts downstairs. Some of the cupstairs... More

We went for special thanksgiving dinner menu. Food quality was poor and very little. Service was not good, firstly one of them didn't understand english very well and then, they took wrong order for drinks. In addition they suggested some very expensive drinks which is something i personally don't like.

The food hit the spot. We came for a late dinner after a Canadiens game. I ate the avocado and crab salad on the waiter's recommendation. Excellent recommendation. Service was very good. I would definitely eat here again

We loved the French bistro atmosphere. The beer was flat - I guess they had just changed the keg? However, we had to ask to get a new glass. The food was really pretty non-descript. My daughter's goat cheese salad was nothing like what you would get in France. Oh well -

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
