Touring Montreal, was looking for a good meal to tide over until dinner, pizza and pasta seems perfect with kids. This place is perfectly situated among locals and tourists. Ordered the margarita pizza....cardboard with cheese is best to describe this. Kids meals were no more than tin sauce gouped on dried our spaghetti. Was really terrible. Salad was bland, and... is a small, friendly restaurant offering a very good meal at reasonable price . Nice service with relatively good knowledge, perhaps less so on wine list but ok. Dinner was excellent. I will be back.

My husband and I were walking around in Old Montreal wondering where to eat dinner and found this restaurant on Jacques Cartier Place and noticed a number of other diners on the patio area and sat down. It was a beautiful fall evening. A short, entertaining movie was playing on a building nearby - a musician was playing the guitar... More

I was looking for a quick lunch before I went to fly out and the pizza I ordered was great. It was well done and well prepared and I really enjoyed it on the terrace. Service was a bit surly if I'm honest but efficient enough. Tables were very rocky on the wonky old terrace. Like all the other places... More

We walked the area and wanted a small bite and water. This eatery was near the street musicians so we sat on the patio and ordered Italian poutine and escargot. We both enjoyed our choices. Staff was friendly and the food was tasty and served the correct temperature. With all the choices, it was the most reasonable for a lite... More

We were enticed by the 2for1 drinks when we decided on this place for dinner. I chose lasagne, my husband the fettuccini with chicken. The wine came out of a box & when my husband asked if it was local, he was told "sure British Columbia near Vancouver". Local? Anyway the food was not bad but we would not rush... More

This fun little restaurant on the Place Jaques Cartier was advertising a special on Mussels and Fries (an old favorite) we sat outside watching the world go by and listening to the various musicians who perform on the Place. The food was delicious, the wines and beers reasonably priced and the service friendly. Not fine dining but good and affordable... More

We were greeted quickly and cheerfully and seated quickly. Water and menus were delivered in timely fashion and our orders taken. My partner and I shared a pizza and Caesar Salad. The salad was good and the pizza was excellent. There was no background music to distract, which was welcome - many times music not to our liking at elevated... More

Food is good but the service is pathetic, no interest shown, no attempt at suggesting or offering anything, just going through the motions. Wait times too long.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
