everyone told us this place is a must - it isn't - so many other places with so much better options - try Bagels etc on St Laurent for a really unique experience - long lines at Beauty for a mediocre breakfast -

My husband had beautysalami ...also really good. With homefries and toast or bagel. The plates were BIG. The waitress kept coming back to refill our cups for coffee.really nice! After having breakfeast there , you are full... More

I stopped here before my bike tour of the city. Sat at the counter and had a nice diner breakfast. Nothing overly special, but a fun looking place and tasty food.

Well, to be honest I was specked more from this place, because of the history, founded in 1942! The main reason I stop there was: last Sunday was a line in front of the restaurant in the rain, waiting to get in, So this give me a good impression. Next Tuesday I decide to visit Beauty, however my impression was... More

The food was plentiful, amazing and a bit more pricey than anticipated. But for so much food, it is a good deal. The apple cinnamon pancakes were great but you have to pay extra for maple syrup. I wish I would have gone with the signature "mish-mash". The mimosas were serves as a split with a small carafe of orange... More

Fun Retro dinner with friendly service. Offers a wide selection of omelets and pancake options. On a Sunday afternoon the line to enter went down the block but on a Monday the place was wide open. On Monday while we ate we watched hundreds of cyclist head of to work and university. After a good breakfast, Mont Royal is a... More

We ate at Beauty's during a great walk across Montreal. The décor reminded us of a 1950-60s-era diner and the staff were very nice; however, the food was only average. The famed mish-mash omelet was really nothing special. We cook things like this on the fly during weekends at home. You could definitely find better food elsewhere for a similar... More

Beauty's was founded in 1942 and since that time has occupied a unique spot in the breakfast / brunch lives of Montrealers. It is located in the heart of a long-standing varied ethnic area near Mt. Royal park at the corner of Mt. Royal and St. Urbain. This is not the place for nouvel cuisine or your health or vegetarian... More

Beauty's has been going for 74 years and is famed for it's brunches and bagels. They don't turn anybody away if they can help it, so reserve a table if you can, and be prepared to queue, it is always busy. You are welcomed with open arms and the service was very good. The food even better. The old style... More

Enjoy Beauty's for the touristy history and barbecue it is just a great diner for plan old food! IT is not cheap. But the service is top of the line. The food comes quickly. It is clean friendly and filling. I prefer the french toast, potato pancakes and their cole slaw. The sandwiches are terrific. This is not inexpensive. But... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
