We had visitors from France and we were looking for a fine dining experience. One of features of O Thym was the BYOB. This is important as it helps the bottom line. Our server was friendly and perfectly bilingual and was able to describe the menu and the choices. The fact that it was her 4th day on the job... More

Very simply laid out restaurant with good medium lighting, so it is good enough to see the food, but not glaring harsh light to dine with friends and love ones. The menu is also simple, with daily tartare selection. BYOB makes this even more affordable for a good meal out. I ordered the foie gras and it was well cooked... More

This is an excellent resto with great food to go along. Of course being BYOW, the prices are on the higher end. However, make sure you take back your bottles you have invested for the night if you did not open them all. We were sure we left a great bottle on the table after getting our coats and left.... Good morning, I am happy you liked your food experience at the restaurant.Quite often, people forget things they brought. We have a policy at Ô Thym, since 12 years, if a customer forgets a bottle of wine, an umbrella, glasses, gloves or anything else, we keep the oblect. After consulting our staff, no bottle was found. The staff that was... More

We went on our first and last evening in montreal, and we were delighted on both evenings with the food quality. The staff were helpful in their suggestions and attentive with their service. We loved our dinners there and will return. The room is also quite lovely.

I'm originally from Montreal and Au Thym was always my favorite go-to restaurant for dates or friend gatherings. However, I visited Au Thym again recently and I was very disapointed. The beef tartare in entrée was good. Classic receipe and good quality ingredients. My partner had the duck as a main and he enjoyed it but was not particularly impressed.... More

Very good food, large portions, BYOB w/o corkage. Very good and friendly service. Seats about 50 people, so reservations are recommended 5 minute walk from Metro. Casual and they do not hurry you. Food served at a nice pace. Overall, a low keyed enjoyable meal

My wife and I can’t quite put our fingers on it, other than it just wasn’t our cup of tea. The food was mostly good. My wife enjoyed the scallops for an appetizer. My beet salad was a little more show than go, very pretty, but…We both enjoyed the mushroom pie for dinner. We don’t love overly friendly waiters, a... More

What a lovely evening at this excellent restaurant, where the staff is knowledgeable, the simply decorated venue becomes very cozy when full, and the food is very well executed. We were 3 couples and were able to secure a table at the 9pm seating on a Saturday night. Late... But worth the wait!! The limited menu, written on a wall-size... More

Bring your own wine, there's no liquor license. This little hole -in-the-wall restaurant, in a not exactly upscale neighborhood, provided one of the best gourmet meals we've ever had, in any country. The male server was great, attentive, alert, helpful and professional. The female server as well. The place wasn't busy for a weekday night, but that didn't matter. The... More

A lovely spot for weekend brunch with friends! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal of their take on eggs benedict (with lobster!) and was blown away by the various flavours showcased in the other dishes. I would highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning so that I may sample their dinner menu as well.

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
