This was a great find! We only had about an hour and a half left before we left our AirBnB to go to the airport and this place was only a few blocks away. Located on the corner of a cozy neighborhood, this place had the best burger we've tasted in Canada. Sure, the idea of coleslaw and relish on... More

Mid-size, no fancy place to have burgers in Le Plateau area. The customer are mainly locals. The restaurant is also acting as a kind of arts gallery. The service is always good. The meals are great, fresh and tasty. We can not say the price are cheap but they are ok on a quality/price perspective. *** You have to take... More

Enjoyed our lunch here. It is like a step back in time with the lunch counter and stools, a few tables, and the even the unisex bathroom is worth seeing! Our server was charming. My French isn't so great and she quickly moved into English for me. I was disappointed that they didn't have the special advertised on the blackboard... More

One of my favourite comfort foods period! This version of the oh-so-tasty burger is very good, juicy and tasty - you have to love lamb - mind you, it is pack of lamb flavour. Portions are generous and the price is right.

Burgers are not all created equal but Les Belles-Soeurs is a very nice neighbourhood restaurant that offers the best deal I have had in more years then I can remember. The quality/price ration is simply AMAZING! The hamburger plate includes the hamburger of course with a choice of salad or fries (both excellent) or half and half (if you want... More

We've been going there for a number of years... I think their burger plate is one of the best deal in town. For a +/- $9 you'll get a egg buns burger (with a fair portion of fries and salad) and a glass of draft beer! Like many smaller restaurants in Montreal, it also use as a art gallery for... More

Went to Les Belles Soeurs for breakfast. Great diner-like interior, in a very charming neighborhood, a little removed from the typical tourist places which will charge twice as much.

Good breakfast, lovely local restaurant. Not close to public transportation, and difficult parking. But good lunch and evening menu too.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
