Savory chicken and tasty fries make for a wood-fired grilled delight at this well-known fast food restaurant. If you arrive at peak hours expect there to be a long wait and no seating room as it is limited in the first place and meal-time lines will stretch onto the sidewalk. The seasoning is excellent and not too prevalent for those... More

While we went for the chicken which is worthy of its excellent reputation - the poutine was the best I have had in Montreal. We prefer the sandwiches and a side of poutine to the chicken meal which can be overwhelming with the generous serving crammed into the styrofoam. Sandwiches are a bit less messy. But it is all good!... More

I just love Romados! The chicken is cooked to perfection! The Pastel de nata is the best one I ever had in Montreal. This is definitely my favorite spot and located in my favorite neighbourhood. A bit of Portugal in Montreal! Try and you won't regret it!

I visit Romados regularly as I live in the area, and the chicken is consistently good as my title suggests. I usually enjoy the 1/2 chicken combo with fries and salad. The sauce and crispness of the skin really make the chicken. The fries have a great spice to them that I find enjoyable. Today I decided to indulge myself... More

As most everyone says, the chicken was great. So were the "french" fries. Yes the line was long but they move everything along. The menu was confusing to us especially the size to order and we did not know we had a choice of sauce until we were at the counter placing our order. But the wait was well worth... More

We came here for the famed charcoal grilled chicken. We were not disappointed beyond the long 20 min line up to order on a Saturday evening at 730pm. The chicken was moist and season through with flavour. It may taste over salted at times and we can only guess the meat was brined. The chicken sauce is tasty, with a... More

Had the chicken and it was very tasty. Ordering it was complicated because the man taking the order and putting it in the containers was not very clear. My friend who is a French speaker from Montreal had trouble understanding what was going on even though our order was simply off the menu. We had to bring the fries back... More

In my opinion best Portuguese pick up and go place. I really suggest you call first and place your order. Great staff, very friendly, food is always hot and tasty. The hot sauce could be hotter or they should have levels, Piri piri sauce, I was not impressed.

Good, solid Portuguese chicken. A little expensive for what you get. The fries were outstanding. Piri piri sauce was a bit weak. lacking any heat. Salad was an after thought. Wouldn't return.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
