Very inexpensive. If you want to have a decent meal in Montreal on a very low budget, this is the place to be. Can get a little chaotic over the weekend. Tables are few. They have decent poutine and sandwiches. Had a good fresh juice cocktail too.

This place was just named on so many Top 10 Best in Montréal lists and I can see why. Their poutine is huge and so, so good. If it matters to you, their gravy is vegetarian, and it has wine in it! We ordered the poutine and salad combo and it was definitely enough to have for dinner. We also... More

Can't rate this place highly enough. The food was fresh and delicious. Top notch breakfast sandwiches, poutine, and what an amazing hamburger. We keep going back because the food is so cheap and good. We arrived at this small diner, and instantly, patrons moved to accommodate our party of three at the bar. Menu is in French, and like much... More

My daughter took me to Montreal for the weekend and one of the places she said we must go was Patati to get Poutine. This was my first time trying it and it was wonderful. I understand why every time she is in town she stops by this little gem and orders Poutine.

Sorry but I don't understand all the fuss. Restaurant is super small, it makes it nice and cozy. The poutine is good, but I have seen better elsewhere. Fries, sauce, peppers, oignons, mushroom and cheese. Been there done that. I will try again, maybe I did not choose the right one...

Found this little treasure while walking down a street in Montreal and was so happy we went in! Tiny place but great food, lovely service all for affordable prices!! Try their version of Poutine, highly recommendable!

I stopped just to try this well rated, minuscule eatery we kept driving by. The service at the bar was friendly and extremely fast, but the food I had to go was unexpectedly bad. The French fries very tasty but incredibly greasy, while the fish burger so soggy that felt apart in my hands. In positive news the fish was... More

I am a potato lover, any dish with potatoes is irresistible to me. Tried poutine multiple times after moving to Canada in 2014 and poutine was probably the only potato dish that was so hard to like. Until, I gave poutine another chance at Patati Patata and I have to admit it was the best vegetarian poutine I have ever... More

Terrific, local joint serving poutine and all the accoutrements, as well as other fare like burgers, crepes, eggs. Very friendly staff and the BEST coffee we had in Montreal. I appreciated all the vegetarian options, including the poutine. Although I discovered I'm not a poutine fan, would definitely return because the place was so cozy and authentic and the food... So far, of all the places I've tried, Patati Patata is the best at a classic poutine. Super small cozy diner spot with a bar and a handful of tables. I can't speak for anything else on the menu, but the poutine is absolutely perfect on its own. Try it with a fried egg. They also serve breakfast AND are... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
