We wet to Le Cartet on the recommendation of our concierge and we were not disappointed. They open at 9am and we arrived at 9:15, by 9:30 there was a wait. The food was delicious, I had the Canton plate which is a peasant meal with sausage, bacon, and ham, eggs and baked beans. It was wonderful, you can tell... More

Great place with a wide variety of take-out meals and a nice brunch menu. The place is always busy, so you may have to wait before being seated. Le Cartet also has a boutique with chocolates, coffees, cookies from around the world.

I really like the food here. It's a great size for lunch. I just had a pulled beef chili and it was delicious. Yum! It is pricey but if you want something different in the old port in Montreal, this is the place.

I went there few times but I didn't enjoy my last visit. I love the ambiance of this place and friendly staff. I usually order "Le Sante" or "Le Canton". Last time we went there I didn't like the "Le Canton".

On the recommendation from our hotel front desk, we went to Le Carter in old Montreal for brunch. We were seated right away. Service and food was excellent. I will go back.

Even if getting a seat could be long, it really worth waiting! All brunches are amazing and affordable. The ambiance is very convivial, a bit noisy but it won't affect the quality of the food. Definitely recommend you to pay a visit!

What a cool place. Awesome food. I eat paleo and found loads to eat here. My partner loves a big breakfast - the skillet breakfast was perfect. Large. Tasty. Sustaining. And as a healthy person i loved rounding it all off with a matcha latte with almond milk. Good to find something for both of us. Art work and buzz... More

Went here on a Sunday morning on the suggestion by the guys at Montreal Scooter just down the street. The brunch was amazing! We splurged on mimosas and bought some amazing Kusmi tea to bring home. Service was impeccable. Will repeat on next visit to Montreal.

My Montreal colleague recommended this restaurant for brunch and I am very happy that he did! The service was extremely friendly and our waiter was top notch! He recommended the country breakfast in a skillet and it was amazing! This was accompanied by freshly squeezed orange juice and a perfect bloody caesar. I cannot wait to come back!

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
