Tasty food and friendly service. No frills, small counter for eating in, but mainly a takeout place. Delicious roasted chicken, ribs, and potatoes. Garlic sauce and spicy sauce added if you want. Variety of plates and combos with a few sides. Good pickles and rolls.

Believe it or not, our visits to Coco rico are usually just for the portugese pasties called pasteis de Nata. Also, we have had the chicken a couple times and it's very good and reasonably priced. However, make sure to get the Nata's, as I think they give some of the pastry shops we've visited in Portugal a run for... More

This is definitely a local place. The service is great. There is limited seating at a counter against the wall. It is worth finding since the chicken and potatoes are great. We had been here 4 years ago and did not remember the name and found it making my wife very happy

The food is delicious and easy for take out, so great for bringing to the park. Their chicken is so tender, and it all comes at a great price!

Rotisserie Coco Rico gets started very early./ Chickens roasting. Chicken drippings flowing on roasting potatoes. Homemade rolls. You can smell the aroma for blocks. It is heaven. It is also one of the best budget bargains in town! Chicken is very reasonable..and who does not love hot fresh roasted chicken. There are places to take your food and eat in... More

Love their BBQ Portuguese style chicken. And don't forget about the Ribs, they do them great also. Try chicken with extra spicy sauce if you can take a little heat. One of the truly best chicken dishes served in or take out. Add boiled potatoes, two kinds of coleslaw, fresh beaked breads... is all right there. Short menu, great value.... More

We keep coming back for the chicken and fries, so good. The Portuguese egg tarts are to die for. Another Montreal staple.

Best chicken sandwiches ever! The ribs are amazing too. When ever I don't have time to cook dinner, I just pick up few diffrent meats and potatoes from coco Rico and my husband is over the moon. The way they spices their meats is just outstanding and so tasty.

Oh those roasted potatoes. The aroma coming from coco rico is just this side of heaven. Roasted chicken and roasted potatoes done to perfection, meat falling from the bone in a tiny enclave with seats along one wall. Just mouth watering. Take out is the big thing here, wrapped in white paper the juices ooze through. The staff is friendly... More

When I visit Montreal I always have to have a snack or meal of Portuguese chicken and always have the delicious Spicy sauce - it almost melts in your mouth. The restaurant offers eat in or take away. Eat in is at an eating bar along the wall. They also have pork, potatoes, salads and egg tarts. A steady flow... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
