Very lovely restaurant on Laurier street. Service is good and the waitress took her time answering my questions about their dishes. Nothing is really fancy on the menu, though their menu is longer than most local restaurant. We tried mushroom ravioli and duck confit, and both are wonderful. Not very cheap but for the quality of food it is worth... More

This is one of the best overall restaurant in Montréal. Its cuisine is a renewed higher end classical French Bistro Brasserie. The service is friendly but with a distinguished local take. My favorites are the onglet and the salmon tartar with the truffle oïl and yhe snail ragout with the basil. I usually go as a couple, but solo at... More

Happened into Lemeac at random and had a marvelous experience from the cocktails, appetizers and a tasting menu of several selections- all were delicious. A fun place to experience an authentic Montreal menu with other more standard fare. A pleasant and casual dining room with a neighborhood feel. Highly recommend.

Sunday evening.Excellent service and food in a suburban setting.Found the waiter, to be efficient but with not a lot of friendliness.Bordered on being aloof. The cod was wonderful .Next time we are in Montreal it will be on our list.

The restaurant is efficient, attractive, well lit. The food was good but not memorable. It felt like a place your well heeled grandparents would take you to. I do need to make special mention of our waiter, who made excellent wine suggestions: since I was in the mood for white wine without oak he gave me a wine from the... More

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Lemeac, classic French fare and served with a smile. We found the service to slick and efficient but not over top. Waiters filled out wine glasses without being asked, all meals arrived on time with sufficient time between courses. Quality of food served to us was exceptional, we basically licked the plates. Great Steak... More

This was an unexpected surprise for dinner. We were lucky and had a great table for 3 without reservations. The mussels were more that I've ever had in my lifetime! Desert was fantastic, lemon curd tart was wonderful. Good service and nice warm atmosphere.

I think my stomach still hurts the next day. We wanted to try the late night menu and we were not disappointed. The escargot, prepared in a pasta, was beyond my expectations. Steak frites was huge and hubby got the beef short rib. Huge portions. But we still had dessert. Yummmmm. Go here!!!

Went for a late Friday night dinner with friends, ambiance is quite nice. We all had something different and all of us were pleased with our choices and our food. Great service, not in the least rushed, and great wine parings were suggested. We really loved it.

Staying in Outremont

Neighbourhood Profile
Outremont
Outremont, a quaint residential district just north of Downtown, is a peaceful, low-key setting known for its mod cafes and bistros, and some of the best walking territory Montreal has to offer. Visitors can explore the flowering parks and manor estates of Maplewood Street, then window-shop the popular bakeries and coffeehouses on main arteries of Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine and Rue Van Horne. The modern granola feel is complemented by contemporary art exhibitions, rotating theatre productions, and a welcoming public library. Also a nexus for the city's Hasidic Jewish culture, Outremont's diversity resounds in its cuisine and in its architecture. Visit the colorful neighbourhood to take advantage of boutique shopping on Avenue Laurier, or to test the artisanal flavors of Avenue Bernard, braving a salmon burger on a squid-ink bun or accommodating your sweet tooth with a provincial chômeur pudding. A visit to Outremont is a relaxing day.
