Came here since it changed its name to something about mussels. The menu wasn't extensive at all. It was hard to find good mains that weren't mussels. A bit disappointing. Also, the menu offered options such as 'fries or salads' but when we asked they told us it was only fries. Disappointing again. My meal said it came with a... More

My partners family has visited Montreal from New Hampshire many times and they swear by Cafe Souvenir. We were visiting from London and had the best breakfast ever. The service was swift and friendly too. If this cafe was in London I'd visit every week. Thank you very much!

Casual dining. Prices are good and so is the food. The atmosphere is sometimes a little weird in there with the layout but it's a detail. I love it for Brunch. So much to pick from and it's all delicious.

People have elevated the reputation of this establishment to a level it does not deserve most days. This is one of the first real trendy brunch spots on the equally trendy Bernard Street. I have always felt the reviews were over generous. It is a safe bet but nothing really distinguishable from the the nearby sport on the same street.

We had breakfast here, and the whole experience was unpleasant from beginning to end. First, we sat outside as it was a lovely sunny morning. But the patio seating is so cramped that when people sat down at the table next to ours, we were practically touching elbows. Next, we had an awful server. She got our order wrong. My... More

My smoked salmon salad was very fresh and filling , and my friend had the hamburger mushrooms and fries ( plate of the day). Very good fries as was my cafe au lait. I went here the other day with my family after getting bagels from somewhere closeby, and even though we could hardly speak French, our server was nice and patient with us. My daughter and I had crepes, and my hubby got an omelette. I enjoyed my daughter's crepes more than mine but only because hers had butter and sugar and... More

It is a nice resto with good variety of brunch options. The service was great and the food very well presented and tasty. I will definetely make it a regular place to go on sundays.

It's always great to eat al fresco, breathe the fresh outdoors air and watch the people walking by at the same time. At Cafe Souvenir you can do this and have great food, too. The menu is varied with meat, fish, vegetarian selections, plus soups and salads. The prices are very reasonable especially when you compare to the neighbouring restaurants.... More

Staying in Outremont

Neighbourhood Profile
Outremont, a quaint residential district just north of Downtown, is a peaceful, low-key setting known for its mod cafes and bistros, and some of the best walking territory Montreal has to offer. Visitors can explore the flowering parks and manor estates of Maplewood Street, then window-shop the popular bakeries and coffeehouses on main arteries of Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine and Rue Van Horne. The modern granola feel is complemented by contemporary art exhibitions, rotating theatre productions, and a welcoming public library. Also a nexus for the city's Hasidic Jewish culture, Outremont's diversity resounds in its cuisine and in its architecture. Visit the colorful neighbourhood to take advantage of boutique shopping on Avenue Laurier, or to test the artisanal flavors of Avenue Bernard, braving a salmon burger on a squid-ink bun or accommodating your sweet tooth with a provincial chômeur pudding. A visit to Outremont is a relaxing day.
