The place is quite large and a mix of an Italian grocery with a restaurant. Organiszation could be better if you want to eat there. However, the taste is really Italian makes you forget the long wait. I would definitely recommend stopping there to buy some take out. The pastry is really good.

This "restaurant is located right near the Jean-Talon Market in Little Italy. I normally do not eat lunch, but that day I craved a small thin crust all dressed pizza, so I went to Motta's. This seems to be primarily a "ready to order" place. There were counters full of all sort of food and desserts. There were tables as... More

Most Italians restaurants in Montreal are closed for lunch and closed on Mondays, as we were heading to Jean Talon Market and the area of Little Italy, we found this Italian marche, with many choices and excellent prices. We chose pastas, my choice was spaghetti pesto, after reheating them, they were awful, the guy in charged offered to changed them... More

Delicious pizza, and mouth watering pastries. Not a good place to go if you are on a diet!! And after your meal you can stroll down to the Jean Talon market and experience wonderful fresh fruits, veggies, cheese, bread, flowers, spices etc.. A great way to digest your meal and maybe go home with a little midnight snack.

Pizza Motta has amazing pizza! This Italian eatery is steps away from the Jean Talon market and has so many delicious options. There's a dessert counter and a large selection of savoury foods such as salads, pastas and pizzas. There's an enclosed terrace to dine and there's a section of the restaurant with prepared foods (sauces, pasta, etc).

The food is very delicious and very reasonably priced. The pizza bread is too good, I never miss eating here whenever I am around in Jean Talon area. I also love their salads and rolls. They also have some grocery like pasta, sauces, olive and so on that you could buy. Great value for money!

Staying in Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie

Neighbourhood Profile
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie
Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie has one of Canada's most prominent Italian communities, with Little Italy concentrated along the convivial bends of Saint-Lawrence Boulevard. Known for its fantastic bars and authentic Italian fare, the domain includes the Jean-Talon Market, the largest public market in North America. Open year-round, sunny months see fruit and vegetable stalls set up outside the main chalet, while blustery weather draws crowds indoors to meat and cheese sellers, spices and truffles stalls, and for regional delicacies such as rare Charlevoix lamb. While the market dictates what's fresh for local restaurateurs, visitors can please more than their palates, taking in the Renaissance architecture and frescos of Madonna della Difesa, the picturesque Rue Saint-Rominique with its cheerful homes and splendid gardens, or the ornamented thoroughfare of Plaza Saint-Hubert.
