I really like going to Titanic when I need a quick lunch in Old Montreal. They serve enormous sandwiches, great salads, and their famous mac&cheese. The atmosphere is warm (wood tables and chairs), with clients being mostly employees from offices nearby. Few tourists care to venture in this basement restaurant.

I had the daily combo which was more than enough. The ham and cheese sandwich was freshly made and the cauliflower and cheese soup was very tasty. They have a large selection of premade sandwiches which are very large (my combo had half a sandwich). Lots of different types of buns. There are also hot plates available. This is a... More

Hidden in the Old Port, that Titanic serves fresh and tasty sandwiches and salads. As everything else in the Old Port, you expect more for your buck but this is truly one of the best casual lunch options in the area.

Kind of hard to find, but well worth it. The best muffalato and macaroni and cheese we ever had. Very fresh, wonderful bread and friendly service.

Visit Cafe Titanic and you will be full for the rest of the day. Their sandwiches are huge and i like their chicken salad. They are on the pricely side but very tasty and fresh food. My favorites are tuna sandwich and chicken salad.

For lunch, I can't think of a better spot to bring co-workers. Someone in the kitchen here has an artist's touch for complex flavour. It keeps me eager to see what might come up on the weekly menu - and whatever that is usually winds up as my first choice. If I come back to one thing at Le Titanic... More

You need to look for the place in order to find it. In general, their food (hot plates and sandwiches) are good, but ovepriced for the quality and quantity you get. It cost me 18$ for a plate of mac'n'cheese - as I took it to go, I did not realize until I got back to the office the portion... More

Might be a bizarre stop for the 4 of us since we will be boarding a ship in the next 24-hours. Very good! Delicious Lentil soup, tomato & mozzarella sandwich, and a glass of wine. Would definitely recommend. Kind service. Order at the deli counter and take in all the wonderful specials.

We had a delicious lunch, the soup was potato and green apple, how yummy is that?! The Mac and cheese was amazing, so rich and creamy, with penne and three cheeses. Huge helping, great size to share. We met Rob, the owner because he is a second cousin to one of our party of five. Cute and cosy atmosphere. Warm... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
