Chez Ashton's poutine was one of the best I've tried, with real potatoes (not those highly processed fries), a delicious light brown gravy, and real cheese curds! The staff were also very very nice. I appreciated being able to select exactly what toppings I wanted on my burger, and when I asked about a refill of my drink, they were... More

Chez Ashton is the fast food of QC and is one of the only places open after everything else is closed. We ate the poutine there and it was loaded with cheese curds, loved it!

Not sure what a good poutine should taste like I can't really comment on the merit of the place. It is the best tasting one I have tried so far. The chips are crispy and well cooked, the gravy isn't too strong or overpowering and the cheese has great chewy texture (real squeaky cheese). Overall it is very tasty. Reminds... More

We wanted a light lunch while checking out the city so stopped in here. You get what you pay for. Served in a foil tray - soggy fries, in tasteless gravy with sliced hot dogs and cheese ( and I say that with question) that does not even melt. The picture showed ground beef as well but I guess they... More

Ashton's poutine is one of the best you can get in Quebec City. Every time I am in need for one, Aston's is my spot.

$30 for two 'nothing special' hotdogs and two mini ' Also nothing special' poutines. Felt like fast food... was less satisfying than fast food. Never again. I would have been ok with $30 if it was great, but it wasn't. Would not recommend

In Quebec, one must at least try poutine once. This classic fast food dish, loved by younsters, students, late-night partiers, hungry jacks.... is something new to most American tastes. French fries smoothered in brown gravy, topped with cheese curds. Not on any calorie counting diet, but something that tells one alot about local taste. Ashtons is the recommeded place as... More

Everybody talks about this place as having the best poutine ever, but the poutine is ordinary. It was actually kind of dissappointing. The gravy lacked flavor, fries are ordinary and the cheese did not seem fresh. Glad we tried it, but we wont go back.

We just came from Toronto where we first tried poutine. It was rather awful but we thought we ought to test the Quebec City version. We were told that poutine was introduced to Q C by Chez Ashton so it was the logical place to start. My views have now totally changed - it was really tasty and I feel... More
