Fantastic place to have poutine. We tried 2 of the 5 or 6 variations and both were great! Ice cold tap beers. Good and pleasant service. Reasonable prices especially considering the great food. Accommodated English. Very close to Hotel Frontenac and centrally located in Old...More

I was not pleased with our initial experience, but Mikael (General Manager) more than made up for it the second time. Our burgers (Beef and Chicken) were outstanding! The Mango soda was also pretty good. Overall, the best burgers we've ever had!! Mikael was exceptional...More

I guess you just have to come for their burgers and their truffle tries or their homemade Chip. They are really good. Size wise, it's just the right size for me as Asian with the truffle fries or chip. They uses the bun that's different...More

Why this place is so highly rated boggles me. The poutine is a joke. The fries (or potato lumps, to be more precise) are neither crispy nor tasty, unless you like the taste of old cooking oil. The cheese is ok. The serving size is...not...More

Le Chic Shack is a busy place right across from the Frontenac. I had lunch there, a burger and fries , and a cappuchino. They are so busy they kind of forget to be extra friendly. My burger was tasty but dry and nothing to...More

This is not real poutine!!! Roasted potatoes instead of French fries .. rubbery cheese curds; and some attempt at a gravy like sauce ... burgers are sub par and small .. go elsewhere ..

Loved the taste and quality of the food here. I'm glad I chose this place to enjoy my first poutine--no frozen, pre-cut potatoes or commercial gravy that is found in so many malls and fast food joints. I recommend 'La Forestiere'; great hand smashed potatoes,...More

Went by trip advisor ratings and tried the poutine at le Chic Shack - it was absolutely gross. Not overly warm, cheese was rubbery. Tried the hamburger as well and wasn't impressed with them either!

I was very disappointed with the "poutine" that I ordered from this place. The sauce was not traditional poutine sauce, and it was served with what seemed to be roasted potatoes. The menu didn't indicate the flavour of the sauce would be different to the...More

Le Chic Shack is a new gourmet burger/milk shake restaurant opened in June 2012. We also serve poutines, fries and salads. For dessert, we offer milk shakes and ice cream sandwiches. The owners of Le Chic Shack are the sister-brother team of Lucy and Evan Price. They are also owners of the renowned Auberge Saint-Antoine and Panache restaurant in Quebec City. Located in a historic building owned by their family for five decades, Le Chic Shack reflects their culinary and interior design expertise. In creating their new restaurant, Lucy and Evan worked closely with their management team and Chef Mikael Garneau, previously of Panache, The Culinary Edge of San Francisco (California) and their local supplier base.Beyond our tasty recipes, these are some features that make Le Chic Shack stand out:* brioche buns made by local artisan baker Borderon et fils * sweet potato fries (along with fries from white potatoes)* uniquely built poutines - from side to main course dishes* milk shakes and ice cream sandwiches made with old fashioned coaticook ice cream * our own fruit sodas and ice tea* draft beer from the local Archibald brewery* draft wine selected by the sommelier of the Panache restaurant* the dynamism and energy of an open kitchen* a relaxed dining environment with tremendous views of the Chateau Frontenac through large French windowsLe Chic Shack is located on the Place d'Armes in the Vieux-Quebec (Old Quebec), facing the Chateau Frontenac and below the Musee du Fort.
