We have been here a couple of times for cream tea (special occasions) and can't fault the whole experience. The food is good quality and the buffet style cake table in the library is perfect for a sweet tooth person like me! Yes it may...More

This was our first visit to this charming hotel. We were there for dinner. It is a stunning place set in beautiful grounds. Clearly no money is spared on the upkeep, appearance and maintence etc. However perhaps the same cannot be said for staffing levels....More

The setting the hotel and the location were lovely, but the prices of the cream tea was so expensive that we didnt both and we would never visit again charity day or not

The food is typically imaginative but very well-prepared and truly delicious. Lamb and chicken were melt in the mouth tender. But one small dipping bowl of olive oil for every four to six people isn't enough, water glasses weren't kept filled, drink orders weren't taken...More

I discovered, after my last review stating that no one had tried to contact me back regarding my experience having afternoon tea, that the manager had in fact emailed me but it had not gone into my primary inbox. The way my complaint was dealt...More

Taken here for lunch on our anniversary by friends. What a disappointment. My starter of herring fillet was full of bones, served skin side up so they were not obvious. It was really not edible, and I mentioned to the waitress that it was unacceptable...More

I found the experience pretentious. The meal was miniscule portions delivered in bowls for the main course pretty food and very expensive and bland. Worked out at £75 each, I certainly wouldn't go again. It was a shame because it was a significant birthday celebration,...More

Love visiting for coffee and a walk around the grounds or lunch, either set menu or sandwiches which are lovely. Never been for evening meal. Afternoon tea is heavier on the sandwiches than most places which we prefer, then you help yourselves to cakes and...More

We had a meal that did not sparkle, in fact it wilted. Needs to up the game for the price charged. Service also slow at breakfast: great staff but too much to do.

I would agree with the above reply. When booking just mention the gluten free and they will do their best to accommodate you. I always comment on a friend's nut allergy and they always have a few choices for her on a... More

Hotel Endsleigh dining room is a superbly stylish, historic spot on the edge of Dartmoor with unmatched views, the sister hotel of the superhot Tresanton in Cornwall. Hip designer Olga Polizzi has winningly brought the historic Grade I shooting and fishing lodge into the 21st century while honouring its Regency soul and it is run by her perfectionist daughter Alex Polizzi. The elegant wood-panelled dining room with the Duke of Bedford and friends family crests looks out onto the Humphrey Repton garden. Chef Christopher Dyke uses local and regional produce to devise his English menu complemented by a thoughtful international wine list. This is country house cool.
