The fish was so oily, the tartare sauce was grose and the chips were horrible. Even my son who loves chips wouldn't eat them. Pretty expensive for fish and chips especially cos it was barramundi and not good fish. Service was fantastic though

We rode with our kids to have breakfast at Hillary's. The Beach Shack was pumping, but turning over tables quickly due to the efficient and courteous wait staff. We all enjoyed a great Sunday breakfast, which could be optioned up or down depending on your appetite. Something for everyone on the menu, including fussy eaters, gluten free, dairy free, etc.... I'm not one for leaving bad reviews, but this time I'm a bit fed up with the Beach Shack. Been 3 times in the last few weeks and has gotten worse each time. 2nd time going recently all the decor changed, uncomfortable seats were added, all the originality of the place has disappeared. My poached egg was off, and the... More

This place has a fantastic atmosphere, though it can sometimes be a little noisy. The menu is excellent and the food plentiful and very tasty. Quite a quirky place!

Went for breakfast as a family of four. Food quality very good. I have not been here for around a year and I immediately noticed a sharp increase in prices. Definitely charging too nuch in a depressed economy.

Our group had haloumi burgers and chicken burgers. They were very tasty and huge!! Way too big for me! Service good and friendly. Coffees good too. Even for a weekday it was busy.

Loved this place. The decor is great and the breakfasts are fantastic, especially the eggs benedict and pancakes. There are games to keep the kids amused and although busy you never wait long for service.

we have been going here for the best part of 8 years for breakfast, always has been great, always busy. definitely a change of owners of managers of late, menu size is reduced and prices have surged, an example was bacon and eggs used to be $14.50 now it is $15.00 just for scrambled eggs on toast and an extra... Have been to Hillarys marina a few times but never ventured into this cafe. Just grabbed a quick burger and a coffee. Both were fantastic. Has a great selection of cakes including gluten free options. Will definitely be coming back to try a more substantial meal.

The beach shack has recently changed owners and its going down hill fast. Staff are rude and poorly dressed. The coffee is revolting and food is awful. So disappointing as this was our local. I wont be going back.
