Food very mediocre in my view. For a food establishment I thought it was a bit mucky to be honest. Beer was okay though shame really

I used to frequent the Red Lion as a child , but until now could have only vouched for the garden and the Ginger Beer & crisps ! We had been allowed to use a room one end of the pub for our get together,,,which was great. The atmosphere was good and the price of a bottle of wine was... More

Had such a lovely steak meal with my husband mid week. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we came in and were helped with menu choices/advised of specials. Food was amazing – fresh, tasty and well presented - portion sizes were very good value – we rolled out of there! Lovely staff – really nice place. Thank... More

Advertised as tapas, but nothing like. Tapas is not all deep fried, but tasty morsels of exciting flavours perhaps the "chef" has never had the real thing. Would be embarrassed to advertise it as such

After moving to Shoreham over a year ago, being to all pubs and this tops this list. Not modernised but if you appreciate a good old English pub, good beer and good food, this is it. The Ribeye with peppercorn sauce a must.. Locals and staff all so friendly and welcoming and love the open fire for the chilly nights and... More

Desparate need of upgrading. Total lack of tlc, table thick with grime. Pile of tarnished table mats not cleaned for how long. Dirty glasses, makes you wonder what kitchen is like. What a shame could be so much better. Signs of paint samples on wall so maybe makeover imminent. Hope so.

My wife and I visit the Red Lion regularly, often to have a meal and stay on for the folk evenings. We've brought friends and family here on many occasions, and all of them remember the pub with affection, especially our overseas vistors who find here everything they expect from a traditional English pub. We've had lunches, dinners or just... More

I'm surprised previous reviews haven't commented on the fact that they have live music at this pub. My wife and I were there on a Wednesday recently and found an excellent folk trio playing in the top room. We'd gone for dinner, but ended up staying for the evening to listen: apparently this trio are there regularly on Wednesdays and... More

Visited the pub and beer, and food very good. Staff friendly and lovely smell of logs burning on open fire. Not a posh pub but just a good honest pub. Enjoyed my visit

I visited the red lion yesterday for the first time. My experience was very enjoyable. The pub is quaint. The staff were very friendly, and most of all I think the pricing is incredibly good. The house red was exactly what you would get in any bar. I doubt that the owner can be making any money on the food,... More
