Fabulous lunch at the wayfarer. Small dishes to share followed by Duck, Fish, Steak and Ale Pie and Rump Steak. Very nice and will visit again

Visited the Wayfarer for the first time on 18th March. I had only made the booking the day before, for 7 people, and the restaurant was full when we arrived but our table was ready. Home-brewed beer good. Starters good, main meals pretty good aswell. Cambrian Lamb well cooked, huge burger, good (big!) steak, tasty steak and Ale pie, reasonable... More

I took Mother & Father Saturday night for his Birthday. Been before so confidence was high. My only complaint was myself, been off work 3 days on anti biotics, I didn't feel hungry. So I passed on starters, where I'd normally have. So straight for mains I had Malaysian Chicken. I may not have felt hungry but could have eaten... More

Went here on a Sunday afternoon, on the off chance we would get a table. The two sit down restaurants were full but we got a table in the bar easily. Food was good, as always and service very quick. Have tried most of the menu and none of the food disappoints.

Went for evening meal, got there 5.30pm, already quite busy - a good sign. Was a bit over-awed by the complexity of the menus. Three dining areas - pub, restaurant, conservatory. Food was ok, service was a little on the slow side but staff were pleasant. Reasonable pint from it's own micro-brewery. I left with the thought that although I... More

Handy place to stop for lunch on our way to Southport. The menu offers a wealth of food options and the on site brewery produces excellent beers.

Passed this venue for years and finally went in. The décor is rural country or shabby chic with genuine cowers over a number of the artifacts on display. The staff were diligent courteous and coping with the large volume of diners. The food was served with no real delay, the quality varied with each dish. The baked sea bass was... More

We've probably driven past The Wayfarer a thousand times but for some reason we've never eaten there or even called in for a drink. We were out and about in the area on Saturday afternoon and decided to give it a try. We ate in the original dining room which has an upmarket "gastro pub" menu and feel. The Wayfarer... More

We went here with our 1 year old and some friends. Good menu choice and staff were friendly. The food took quite a long time to come out (about 35 minutes) but when it arrived it was worth waiting for. Excellent food and reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend.

Appalling service, waited over an hour to be served any food, ordered a bottle of water that just never arrived. Paid £20 for a steak that was so tough as to be virtually inedible- burger was over cooked, dry and tasteless. No interest or care from the staff - would quite simply never never go to this place again and... More
