Not visited this place for years and was actually pleased that it hadn't changed! The mead is still lovely and the food was a good standard- a great place to visit with friends or a group for a fun night out!

Service was with the minimum effort, and then when we came to pay were told that we couldn't split the bill, which for a party of 10 is a) unheard of and b) ridiculously restrictive. Food is okay.

A must if you've never been! The meadery as it always is, fab fish bites, great salad bar, delicious cherry mean fizz and scrummy Mississippi mud pie ( ask for a portion of this desert to be taken out the freezer when you first order food then it's perfectly mouse 'y when you have dessert). Mead coffee was a great... More

My family and I love a trip to the Meadery and always make a point if we have friends visiting to take them It's a fantastic experience - kids love the fact there's no cutlery. The food is always piping hot and comes it very generous portions I love the half and half salad and chips option with the main... More

The food here is never going to win any culinary awards but at least you always know what you're going to get and you never ever leave still feeling hungry. The menu has barely changed over the last 30 years, but then why change a winning formula? Fried stuff with chips and/or salad! It's been a while since I've visited... More

Good fun and finger food at this family friendly eatery in Newlyn. Nice atmosphere and friendly service too. We always try and visit when we're in Cornwall and haven't been disappointed yet!

We were looking forward to a menu that consisted of Old English fare. What we had was tasty but ordinary food. Prawn cutlets, salad, chips, garlic bread, 1/2 a chicken deep fried. This is in my opinion pub food. We were looking forward to rustic hearty old English food like roast beef or pork with lashings of dark oozey gravy,... More

6 of us at five past nine on a Saturday evening having been delayed on our journey and were turned away as they finished serving at 9. Can a business afford to do that these days? We were 6 fifty somethings who were very sober, hungry and thirsty!! We would have eaten anything at that point. Luckily the lovely little... More
