Some of my friends and I visit one day to have a couple of drinks. Great view of the beach. A little out of the way of most the resorts.

Great spot. Good bar with buckets of beer and tropical drinks. Fun music. Colorful tables and chairs (for rent)...on one of the most serene and beautiful beaches. Perfect family spot for hanging out, not overrun with tourists, super chill. We didn't try the food unfortunately, but we were sure curious about the iguana stew. Sounded YUM.

This was our only disappointment during our week's stay in Saint Maarten. There are two restaurants at Friars Beach and we definitely went to the wrong one. I should have sent my food back. Why I didn't, I do not know. I think I was concerned the language barrier may be a problem. My Mahi smelled like it was spoiled.... More

Located on one of the nicest small beaches on the island, this place is a complete dump. The restrooms are disgustingly dirty, the food overpriced for the quality and quantity. It is unacceptable that places with such low sanitary third-world standards are allowed to operate in the Caribbean. The only saving grace was the cold beer.

The beach was nice, but avoid going to this restaurant go to the other restaurant on beach, this was the worst restaurant on the island, the service was terrible had to go get the server after waiting forever, we ordered the barbecue ribs and half a chicken as they were cooking it outside and it smelled good, but the smell... Was recently in St. Martin for our cruise which was departing from here. We had enjoyed the day at the lovely Friar’s Bay beach and decided we needed to get back to our hotel for our afternoon pickup to the cruise ship. Unfortunately, we were not aware that there was a big carnival parade going through town and found it... More

We stopped Amat Kali's on our way back to home base. Kali's was recommended by a friend for good food, drinks, and relaxation at a nice beach. We met Kali who is welcoming and friendly and makes a great Rum Drink.

Well, we just visited Friars Bay again. This time we ate at the cafe further up the beach. Why? Because the last time that we were here in May of 2013, we ate at Kali's. My dish was fine. My husband had a fish dish that smelled like rotting garbage. I told him not to eat it, and to send... More

I really wanted to like this place, being a reggae fan, but it was obvious from the get-go that this was a tourist trap, when the waiter brought out the specials board but was reluctant to get the regular menu. I got the regular menu, ordered a cheeseburger listed at 12 euros. Of course drinks were not listed; that way... More
