Went here last night as a table of 6, was extremely impressed the female waitress was kind and very helpful and the food was very good well presented and cooked perfectly. Would definitely recommend this place a lovely country pub.

We eat here quite often and have generally always had a good experience so hopefully this was a one off but.... The pub was freezing with cold radiators and no fire going, staff said they didn't know how to work the heating but would light the fire when they got some wood We ordered a couple of soft drinks while... We went to the Duke of Cumberland for a reception after a funeral. It was about 5 minute drive away from the crematorium. There was plenty of parking. The place had a lovely cosy feeling with a lovely log fire. We had organised food and included in the price was unlimited tea and coffee which was great. The coffee was... More

Took a friend here for supper this evening. French friend was very impressed, typical 'Olde English' pub with nice decor and a nice fire too. Had a very attentive waiter who was very helpful. I ordered the soup, tangy Mushroom, followed by Chicken with vegetables,my friend had Chicken Pate followed by the Pork Belly and my other half had the... More

We were a family of four adults just had a fantastic Sunday lunch, each of us chose a roast option, huge homemade Yorkshire puddings, plenty of meat and mixture of vegetables and lovely gravy. Then onto the homemade deserts which were to die for. Friendly helpful staff who did not rush you but left you to enjoy your food without... More

This should be a go-to pub being as it's situated in a lovely village in an area of outstanding natural beauty - and it would be rated much, much higher if the pricing structure was more reasonable. Used to eat here often, but stopped when the cost became greater than the quality of the food. It's still a great place... More

Stayed overnight here on our way back to France and had our evening meal in the Restaurant, very good food and very reasonably priced. We cannot give an opinion on the desserts as we didn't manage to get that far, but going by the rest of the meal, I have no doubt that they are good.

We visited for an evening meal whilst staying close by. Decent car park and outside area. Good sized dining area with usual pub food. Unfortunately my meal had to be sent back as the gravy had been burnt! To their credit the staff were apologetic, replaced it and did not charge for it. The replacement was fine and without the... Tried this place whilst driving home from Dover following a family visit to France as it is a 10 minute detour from the A2. Exceeding all expectations; food was really great, reasonably priced and service was friendly. Made the journey back home a much more relaxing experience and served as a great end to our trip overall. Thoroughly recommended, we... More

We eat here regularly and always have a good meal - food is consistent, the surroundings very nice (great beer garden for kids) and lots of real ales to choose from

Thank Andy C
