The setting is pleasant but we took 3 hours after sitting down to have our meal. They had a major problem with a member of staff but the result was that everyone in the restaurant waited for hours to get their food. When the food...came it was OK but expensive apart from my Terre et Mer which had burnt scallops which were inedible. The evening was chaotic and after 3 hours we got up to go. It took ages to get the bill and I really thought that we would be offered a discount to compensate but none was forthcoming and only after I complained about it did they remove my Terre et Mer from the bill. Goodness knows when the rest of the clientelle were going to get their food (after 2300 hrs).More

From the reception to leaving all was wonderful. Room is what you expect for a 3 star. Clean and comfortable. Dining Room Service is at normal speed, time to enjoy your meal Yum-yum) with no rush. The house selected wine (I know it is personal)...we loved - we even went to the Chateau and bought some!! Meals were simply delicious - we loved every last mouthfull. Service excellent. Prices for the quality very reasonable indeed the folks who rated this establishment below average have clearly written fot the wrong location. They even mention food which is not served here! And they describe events that would shame even a McDo - nothing indicates to me they are not simply lying.More

We were staying at the hotel for a couple of nights and the evening meal was included in the price. The first evening meal was difficult - although we had a member of our party who is fairly good at reading and speaking French the...hotel staff couldn't or wouldn't try to assist by speaking any English (we know the could because every so often they would forge themselves). There were numerous choices, plus the chefs special, for each course but working out exactly what they consisted of was difficult, despite various interactions with the staff, and in the end we had to speak to another couple, whose French was a bit better than ours. Once we had done this an English language menu (which had one starter course different to the French language menus - which wouldn't have been a problem if we were advised of that) appeared as if by magic - too late to prevent an awful lot of stress. Once we were able to order and receive the meal the food was very nice but the service was very slow and requests for additional glasses of wine were forgotten or overlooked until we reminded them what we were waiting for. The meal took over 3 hours in the end. The following night had more or less the same menu but the choices were wide enough not to cause a problem and the chefs specials were different. This time around we got the English language menu given to us straight away and there were more staff on duty - which meant everything flowed as it should and the evening was rather pleasant. Having time for drinks in the garden area after dinner was an added bonus. The town is very small and from what we could see in a quick walk up and down the deserted main road there is no other option for eating when staying here. Would we go back - not sure but no plans to be in the area again at the moment.More

some restaurants can't accept true feedback. They ask "how was your meal?" but can't handle an answer they don't expect. This is such a restaurant. Our remark "the food is cold" resulted in corrective action, but also in a hopeless discussion and even a verbal...fight. Not nice. Summarizing, food average, service amateuristic and nervous, ambiance none.More

Arrived at what is a lovely venue with pre booked party of 6. Tick. Charmingly greeted and sat. Tick. It then took an absolute eternity to be served a drink and orders taken. 45 minutes at least. Seemed odd when restaurant not particularly busy. Original...host disappeared and control of table passed to another lady. Some gratis thimbles of cold soup served (why?). Cutting a long story short the mains had still not arrived after being there two and half hours. One of our party had to physically go in the kitchen and say "is that our food"? There was no apologies or management of what was going on and the second lady then vanished leaving two young lads to take any incoming. Really poor management. By the time the food arrived people were over hungry. It was edible but nothing special. All in all a spoiled 50th birthday. Yes they knocked a few drinks off the bill when we moaned. But the damage was done. A shame - as it is a very pleasant vanueMore

This is one of my favourite restaurants. We always get a good meal. The daily lunch is particularly good value and always a treat to discover what is on offer. The restaurant prides itself on using fresh ingredients and this shows in the quality of...the food. There are more expensive menus and an "carte" which all include a number of delightful options. There is also a good list of local "corbieres" wines. Worth a detour if you are in the area.More

We booked stating we were attending the jazz festival(i.e. Needed to be away by 8.30) we repeated this on arrival and on ordering yet we had to wait one hour from entry to service. This meant we had 30 mins to be served and eat...the three course menu du jour (which it was recommended we ordered as that was the 'fastest' meal). Staff got more and more hassled. Sadly the maître d'hôtel was unsympathetic and lacked customer service skills. Food superb, beautifully presented and at a fair price in this region. Wine pricey (at the jazz cave we had the same wine for 50% of the price) Would go back but not when we attend the jazz next year!! Perhaps restaurant could consider offering a festival menu: entree & plat - simple choice and special service taking 'normal' dinners slightly later?More

The food was excellent, but service was slow even though we told them on booking we needed to be out by 8.30 for the Jazz concert. We arrived at 7.00pm and told them again we had to be out by 8.30, main course not served...until gone 8.00pm, dessert served eventually just after 8.30. we would have given a higher score but the service let them down.More

Looking at the photographs it would seem that we missed a treat, though several reviews concur with our poor experience. We had not made a reservation but were accepted and whilst waiting to be seated we had a drink in the garden area which was...lovely but that is as far as it went. We waited and waited to be attended to whilst the restaurant filled up, customers were served and still we waited. Eventually we managed to get the attention of a waitress to order another drink since we clearly were going to be a while before the menu arrived....which it didn't, I had to get it myself and though we felt it was pricey we assumed it would be good. However having waited over an hour and a half we lost patience, paid for our drinks and left. It would have been acceptable if the waitress had said that they were fully booked and that if we wanted to wait a few hours we could enjoy a meal, we would have moved on, but that did not happen, we were simply ignored. Manners and customer relations are important, I speak enough French to know that we were not warned of an unacceptably long wait. Great shame.More

We visited again last week, with a little caution as recent reviews have held back on praise. However, we need not have worried, having thoroughly enjoyed dining here in July 2014 we did so again. Only reservation was that I chose a rather too robust...local red wine (my fault - should have sought sommelier assistance). Good "Logis" and "Saison" menus; and excellent adult -style children's menu. The informal outside dining is super for families to enjoy a warm summer evening meal. OK. Not a "destination" restaurant, but a strong recommendation for good feed if you are in the area.More

Very limited menus at high prices. On the LOGIS menu, tempura hake was greasy batter and dry fish. The alternatives were cassoulet which we had had elsewhere for lunch and blanquette de veal which we had had the previous evening. On the second night we...were offered a terrine of pork and ballottine of chicken, which in the heat did not appeal. So we took the Emotion (!) menu - top of the range, which was better but unmemorable and overpriced. Service was by cheerful staff who had no clue what they were doing and were totally unsupervised on both nights. Drinks and eating tables were left uncleared and our waiter needed to recite the dish of the day from a crumpled piece of paper kept inside a wine list. Having ordered wine on the first night, we had to ask them to bring it 3 times.More

I have always liked this restaurant especially in the warmer months when you eat outside on the terrace with a cracking view of the Pyrenees (somewhat ruined by the new wall around their pool). Four of us visited one evening during the Conilhac jazz/blues festival...in October. We all chose different set menus and the service was very swift, friendly and knowledgeable. My food was delicious and beautifully presented but the others in our party seemed to be disappointed for one reason or another. The restaurant is definitely the upmarket venue in the Lézignan area and perhaps 'les étrangeres' are expecting an urban edgy feel to the cuisine which is not going to happen in the Languedoc... I would rate this restaurant as very good but have given an average score due to the moans of my dining companions.More

The service is very slow, despite a surplus of staff. No ambiance. Amuse bouche was tarted-up left-overs. Bread arrived with the entree and was obviously of the bre-baked type - hard outside and not good inside. We chose the 28 euro menu - one starter...was good the other was not. Sardine rillettes without any lemon and tasteless cream accompanied by boring salad leaves. Plat of salmon three ways was excellent. Panna cotta was horrible and bore no resemblance to its name. Chocolate dessert was good. Wine of excellent quality and reasonable price. Would not recommend or return - gives the apearance of aspirations of Michelin without the substance.More
