About
Cai is our favourite chiringuito in Cala Sardina near Torre Guadiaro and Sotogrande (San Roque). The bay and beach are beautiful and are new menu and wines are even better!

5 of us enjoyed Calamari, Salad and Chicken Wings to start and they were all delicious.
The Dorado and Paella for mains were also well cooked.
The view and setting of the restaurant is great, right on the beach.
The rose and white wine were average but reasonably priced.
The service was quick and friendly.
€180 for 5 including 3 bottles of wine, not cheap but worth the money.

If your after small beach which attracts mainly locals with great place to eat then this is great. Good food,drink, location but service good with so improving

A relaxing and chilled place for lunch with a simple menu and some lovely specials, particularly the sardines and prawn salad. Friendly service and easy to spend all afternoon there with plenty of beach, a welcome breeze and clean sea when we were there.

Outstanding food and a lovely family run business. We have been there countless times over the years and they always make a plan, deliver superb cuisine right on the beach, next to the waves on a superb and quiet beach just minutes from Sotogrande.
Don’t fail to try this gem tucked away in paradise.

Our favourite lunchtime restaurant in and around Sotogrande. Always very welcoming with delicious seafood and an enormous burger, daily specials.
Paella on sunday is excellent.

What a great gem of a find !!!
Set in the beach in a beach bar style this place is wonderful.
Cold beer, chilled music.
Food amazing (try the calamari)

Spent most of the day on the beach and then finished off a perfect afternoon with a couple of drinks and some very tasty snacks at this very friendly chiringuito- just lovely to spend a warm October afternoon reeeelaxing.

Visited yesterday.
Found it by chance....right on the beach.....right by the sea.....not many people ......very untouristy!!!!! Lovely atmosphere......very rustic..........shabby chic!!!!!!
Moroccan style low pallets with bright colourful cushions.
We had plate of delicious fresh calamari and simple tomato and onion salad......all SO perfect!!!!.......and cool chilled beers.
For somewhere relaxed and beautiful......THIS IS IT!!!!!!!
They also do evening meals but just til 9
Quite romantic I would imagine !!!

We were invited to the opening weekend on Saturday.
The owner is a lovely lady who can really cook great food.
The setting is lovely and the chiringuito is well decorated.
That's the good.. the staff are dreadful, rude and worse they don't care.
We tried to order drinks and they simply if ignored us. When we did order they took for ever.
Other couples complained that they had been invited and were being ignored in favour of a large table of friends or family.
I believe the owners daughter was there..she ignored everyone apart from one table and her own.
To be treated badly is awful, to be invited and treated badly is inexcusable.
I told the staff why I was leaving, they didn't even wait to listen.
Shame as the owner deserves better...
I would not go back if I was offered a free meal for life
If you are prepared to be treated badly in a lovely setting with nice food, full your boots

My family and I (including children aged 6 and 2) have eaten here the last two days and had great meals. The staff are very friendly and whilst the printed menu can seem a little limited, the specials menu has been excellent with beautiful sardines, tuna and deep fried baby squid all turning up fresh and very delicious. They also do an excellent Caprese Salad (mozarella, tomatoes and basil). The children were kept completely entertained whilst we waited for the food as they were able to hunt for shells as the restaurant sits directly on the beach. They even have some sunbeds available for use. It really is the perfect place to take a break from the heat of the Spanish sun, sit back and enjoy simply cooked but delicious seafood. Definitely recommend!

Cai is a relaxed, pretty chiriguito on a small, lovely beach just past Torreguardiaro. The people are friendly, the drinks great, the food super.. not overly fancy but cooked with an appreciation for good flavours! Super for a family outing and very chilled out. I love it hear and all my visitors love it too!

After having been to this chiringuito in the past I was pleasantly surprised to see all the positive changes this year. The place looks beautiful, mostly white décor in a privileged position in a small bay, reminiscent of Ibiza. The menu is quite varied so everyone can find something they will like. I went with a couple of friends for a mid-week lunch and we absolutely enjoyed every bite. We began our lunch with a nice chilled bottle of Arena Negra Sauvignon Blanc. Our feast started with an authentic salmorejo with just the right touch of garlic and served with hard boiled quails eggs and Serrano ham. We also tried the Caesar salad with chicken which was very good and a simple tomato salad which is not on the menu but was served as a special of the day as they had delicious organic tomatoes from a local farmer. For our mains we enjoyed red tuna steak and Presa Iberica (a tender cut of pork full of flavour), all cooked to perfection and served with nicely sautéed vegetables. But the best part of the meal was yet to come and as our desserts arrived and we bit into the deliciously moist home-made brownie, I was transported to dessert heaven. We also had a warm apple cake with vanilla ice cream which was equally scrumptious. A nice espresso and mint tea finished our perfect meal. I hope the chiringuito has a ‘frequent client card’ as I plan to have many meals in Cai and spend lazy summer afternoons on their beach. Superb!
