We went to this pub for a 5pm Sunday booking as part of a party of 12. We arrived 20 minutes early to have a drink as everyone arrived. The place appeared to have had a busy afternoon, and the landlord mentioned as much when getting our drinks. We were not sitting at our table much before 5.40pm and no... More

After a nice walk we headed to the Hare and Hounds. Our group 3 adults, 2 kids and 1 dog decided to sit in the rear beer garden. Kids had fish, chips, peas and veggie sausages, mash, beans. They were happy with their meals. Us adults all had the roast of the day, beef or lamb. Both meats were very... More

The Booking .com site for this b/b is not fit for purpose, when you think you are booking for a double room for you and your partner/wife,or guest. Beware... double check if it is for TWO people, as to our amazement the landlady informed us ,the next morning over breakfast that it would be another £33 per night ,over the... More

Came upon this pub on a drive out and we were not dissapointed. A very good selection of Tim Taylors beers including my old time favourite Ram Tam! Unusual to find in August! My wife ordered corned beef hash pie and I ordered a very hearty steak and ale pie. Absolutely fantastic! A jewel of a find and we will... More

Atmosphere mainly friendly but old fashioned bedroom painted with blood red walls, dark pine furniture, tired and cold bed that I could feel the springs through. Lovely modern new ensuite bathroom, but found a pile of dirty towels in the shower upon my arrival. The host was dour and blamed his staff. Came back one day to find my door... More

Went here last weekend for lunch and had a lovely time. The staff were very welcoming, the menu is good proper food and the portions are generous. We all had the cheese and onion pie (nostalgia set in) which came with chips and peas and was gorgeous - a proper pie, home made, and the chips were real ones too!... More

We are staying on the edge of the moors, 15 minutes walk from the Hare and Hounds, and had Sunday lunch there a week ago. The pub was warm and welcoming, and there were lots of people having lunch, but it didn't feel crowded. Patrons included family groups, locals, walkers and visitors to the area. They have a nice outdoor... More
