A family friendly dining experience that excels at good service . John Apleman is a master of this business with excellent food and a good wine selection with local beers and juices to suit any palate.

We chose The Grape Escape for a birthday lunch because it had been a reliable choice in the past. However this time the place lacked vitality and enthusiasm. The food was excellent but the contribution from the staff made the occasion disappointing. We will try it again but will be hoping for some excitement and something to remember.

Popped into grape escape to have lunch today wasn't impressed as soon as we walked in the door with the service. it took longer than usual to be approached, even tho many employees noticed we were standing there, however food was pretty good!

Great place to chill out and have brunch with friends or family, not only is the location fantastic but the food was also. There is a playground for the younger children to play on while mum and dad have a coffee outside.Good range of food so all tastes are catered for we believe.

Lovely warm and cosy cafe, food was delish. Staff were very friendly. Lovely gardens to sit in and for kids to play. Pop up garden centre, little gift shop, and they sold fresh vegetables really cheap.

Food incredible, staff super friendly, venue simply beautiful!!!!! Sitting outside on a stunning Nelson day with wonderful food can't be beaten and this place has it all. A couple of unique stores right next door adds to its atmosphere. You'll love it.

For over five years I've been getting the Venison pie here. That's because it's the best I've ever tasted. The owner/head chef does a great job of keeping the food quality excellent and the wait staff are extremely good at their job. This is a very good family environment although for me it's often a venue of choice with my... More
