Like everything else in this complex, the food was awesome, staff international and sooo friendly and professional. Fresh, innovative, and fun. Glam without being stuffy. Gorgeous decor. Yep. Fab.

From the food, service, ambience and price...we were extremely satisfied. For anyone visiting MONA, book a table.

Food, taste, service, value, wine list - all worth it. Been to a few nicer places during our few days in Hobart and The Source is, well, worth it - unlikely to be disappointed by a visit here.

We had lunch at The Source Restaurant Mona during our Summer Holiday in Tasmania. We were seated on the balcony, overlooking the stage at a table covered in plants. Your table setting quite literally sits on top of what resembles a small green patch of garden filled with little flowers. In terms of the food, it was fantastic. I had... More

One of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. We were really blown away by the range of meals on option. When they came out they were like artworks. They tasted just as good. You can see straight into the kitchen from the front desk, I have never seen such a clean and bright kitchen. Lots of wine options.... More

While staying at MONA, we had breakfast here every day and were spoilt for choice. Everything that we sampled was delicious - particularly recommend the bagel variation on eggs benedict, the french toast and the great coffee. We also ate in the evening and, again, we weren't disappointed by the quality of the food. Simply wonderful.

My wife and I had lunch here when visiting MONA. Great food, great atmosphere, great views and friendly staff. A must for MONA visitors. My wife enjoys risotto and says that her's was one of the best she has ever had.

My husband and I ate at the Source during our visit to MONA. Its a great spot to sit and relax after a few hours in the museum. If you have to wait for a table, the MONA wine bar is right outside for some wine or beer tastings. The food at the Source was excellent, and the wines were... More

We visited Source on NYE 2016 for lunch. The best way to get there is on the fun ferry from the Hobart waterfront - a great way to see the river and the Rolex Sydney Hobart yachts in the marina. Our group of 6 had entree and main with a couple of different Pinots - service was excellent, the food... More

A wonderful restaurant for a special night out. Great local cuisine with great twists. Loved the local oysters with smoked garlic, abalone in broth was full of flavour, wallaby tartare was an excellent twist, Tassie lamb was divine and the Tassie seafood hotpot exceptional. All set in an shaving location with great staff.

The Source Restaurant takes its name from the John Olsen painting that hangs in the ceiling of the foyer. Its focus is on local seasonal produce, presented according to the whim of Vince Trim (ha), our Executive Chef, and his team. Shared plates, fresh, uncomplicated food, and a lovely outlook over the museum grounds. À la carte breakfast and lunch, Wednesday - Monday. À la carte dinner, Fridays and Saturdays from 6pm.
