I stumbled across this place last year, but just had drinks, and was impressed by the beer selection. So, on our return for lunch today with friends, we decided to get a few items and share them around. We all had different draft beers, all lovely. We ordered brussel sprouts, a warm spinach salad, knockwurst, sauerbraten, and kase-spatzle. All were... More

I'm actually from Germany and while this may not be totally authentic, it's really, really good. The schnitzel had the lightest crispiest breading. My husband devoured his meal and even my kids who always want chicken fingers and fries thought the schnitzel and kaese spaetzle were the best thing ever. We also had the pretzel as an appetizer. Super hot... More

Our server was fantastic and handled our loud and thirsty group very well. This is not the place to go for gourmet food and beer, it is however a great place to go for a fun time with friends.

I am a local so I have visited almost every month of the year. Young crowd but a nice layout, especially if you are there to see live music. Without live music, it doesn't offer much more than other bars in town. Waitstaff is friendly and prices are average for Tahoe.

My wife, two kids and a family friend visited here last night. Both I and my friend have resided in Germany in previous lives so this restaurant was up against two resident critics. Suffice to say they passed with flying Colours. Nothing about the beer or food was faux. Everything was spot on and the service from Alyssa was wonderful.... More

Went with friends after a few days of skiing on the basis that it was supposed to be lots of fun with great food and is right outside the parking lot at Heavenly California Lodge. The place is definitely casual with lots of t-shirts / jeans and kegs stacked against most walls. Place is split in 2 rooms with the... More

Authentic German food, in a location that is fitting. Have you ever had home made pretzels? These guys are doing it right and fairly authentic. The location is tucked away in a neighborhood facing Heavenly resort..stop by dry off, and dip a pretzel into the cheese sauce. We always do!

Such a unique, fun place to eat with a group friends. The tables are set up length-wise for multiple people, the food was great (and there was plenty of it) and the German Champagne was amazing (Schlumberger white). The champagne glasses were HUGE and they even offered to sell them to us. Most importantly the staff was so friendly. Our... More

I have been here a few times and I love it. While the biers are over priced, this is the only place I can get food like my grand parents used to make. The Brussel sprouts are on point and honestly everything is really good. If you're going to come during the winter the parking sucks so be ready to... More

Some friends and I had dinner at Himmel Haus this past weekend during our short stay in South Lake Tahoe, and we all had a really great time. The food was excellent (HUGE portions, though!), and our server made sure we were all well taken care of and having fun during our meal. Great beers on tap, too! I highly... More
