We called in for lunch. I had a warm chicken and bacon salad which also had grilled haloumi and a portobello mushroom. It was absolutely beautiful and so full of flavour. My partners Moroccan lamb salad was equally good and very tasty. Plus an uninterrupted view of Auckland Harbour.

Platter is on the waterfront but away from the crowds in Devonport. Friendly family feeling and staff. Always remember us and happy to accomodate our large family who like to sit and stay a while. Lovely atmosphere, decor is colourful, you can sit inside or out and there's a court yard option. Really nice, generous servings.

Anyone wanting to get away from the many crowded Restaurants on Devonport's main Street should head towards Cheltenham Beach and keep an eye out for Platter on the left hand side with a great sea view. It has changed hands a number of times over the years and is now a Turkish Restaurant which - as rhe name suggests -... More

When reading rubyruby's review I couldn't help but wonder if she placed this maliciously because she works for a competitor. It doesn't make sense! In the last few months the decor has been rejuvenated with a charming Turkish Mediterranean theme, and the courtyard now sports new umbrellas, a mural by local artist and patron Jen Nichols, and a colourful but... Poor quality food, service and and dated decor. This restaurant appears to have had its day. Years ago it was the place to be, however it is evident the owners have become complacent. The menu needs changing, the decor needs attention and the staff need to attend a customer service seminar. Very sad as the location is excellent and this... More

Walking around Devonport and saw Platter. Busy but away from Victoria St. eateries. Great fish and chips. Nice beer. Sat outside with view of the water. Surprising, satisfying find.

Visited this restaurant because from the outside the menu looked interesting. However, we were disappointed overall. While my husband quite enjoyed the Seafood Chowder he didn't think it was anything special and my salt and pepper squid was disappointing. The service was very quick and friendly but overall the place lacked atmosphere (it was two in the afternoon on a... More

Visiting Devonport for the day. Found this cafe,restaurant/bar while we walked from the Ferry to the Naval Museum. Seafood chowder and hamburger/fries were excellent. Quick service ; food freshly made and hot. Choice of inside or outside seating. Beautiful views of the Auckland Bay.

We found this restaurant by accident and what a surprise! Freshly cooked bread with the dips is a real winner. The food is a fusion between greek and turkish cuisines and some of the best you'll try anywhere. Also excellent value for a family on holidays. P.S. Don't miss out on the Baklava - a real treat!

A group of us went for dinner last Friday. My mother got FOOD POISONING from the seafood chowder. She didn't like the look of it at the time but who expects to get food poisoning from a restaurant in Devonport? She has informed Platter of the food poisoning but they made no offer of recompense. Two others in our group... More
