Ordered 3 vegetable biryani. It was so bad that we couldn't finish one biryani. I requested for a spicy biryani and the staff asked if I prefer Canadian spicy or Indian spicy. I opted for Indian spicy. And the result - semi cooked last week's...biryani , recooked with lots of red-mirchi and it was spicy as hell that we couldn't even have few spoons of it. My suggestion to the restaurant - if you can't make biryani, stay out of this business or remove biryani from your menu. My recommendation for potential hungry customers - if you are craving for biryani , stay away from kohinoor.More

I went there by hearing a lot about this place from my friends at work. This restaurant did not meet my expectation at all. Their plates, and spoons were disgusting. Food was terrible. I did like their Mango lassi, but rest was really bad. Never...going back to this restaurant ever again.More

Decided to enjoy some Indian food and glad we chose Koh-I-Noor. We had the Korma Korma Chicken and Bitter Chicken along with some Onion Bajiis. All were hot, plentiful and tasty. It was busy but service was attentive and genuine. Would definitely recommend this restaurant...and will return soon.More

Restaurant is located in the plaza right at the Albert and Phillips intersection. Nice decor and ambience. Waiters are friendly and helpful. This restaurant was an amazing experience. I love Indian food, so we came here after shopping at Walmart. Just like the other reviewer,...if we could rate this place more than 5 stars we would. The chef came to our table to understand what we enjoyed and gave suggestions based on that. The food is absolutely worth the wait and the experience is really great. We had Butter Chicken, lamb curry, Tandoori Chicken with rice, and a lot of Garlic naans. Very reasonably priced for excellent quality of food. We will definitely come back. Thank you KohinoorMore

This was our second visit to Koh-I-Noor since it changed ownership. The restaurant was empty when we came and we were seated quickly. Service was very friendly, but the lone waiter was a bit overwhelmed by a barrage of takeout orders, making the table service...quite spotty. Blame skip-the-dishes! The wait was not too long though especially as we ordered the mixed tandoori grill platter which takes a bit longer as everything is prepared fresh. The food was outstanding, the tandoori chicken and fish moist and succulent, as was the vegetable biryani. The naan came out steaming hot and fluffy-just as it should be. Big portions, we could not finish the food which will make an excellent lunch. Highly recommend! Would have given five stars but for the service.More

I ordered the butter chicken with plain naan and a mango lassi, and it was a great meal. Myself and my family were the only ones in the restaurant. The butter chicken is the best I've ever had, and the naan was fresh baked and...delicious. Our server was very kind and checked up on us to make sure everything was okay. He was personable and friendly, and made our experience great. I highly recommend eating here.More

Me and my husband went again at this restaurant. we ordered Tandoori Chicken. I never had this amazing Tandoori Chicken before, it reminded me of my old days in India. We also ordered Palak Paneer and Butter Chicken, I must say Paneer was so fresh...and delicious. Naan was so soft and delicious. I have been to many Indian restaurants in Waterloo and GTA, I never had such an amazing butter chicken. It was just perfect. They both were just yummy,,!!! When i went first time (about a year ago), i didn't had great experience but this time the new management was just marvelous. I have enjoyed each and every bite of my dinner. I will give this restaurant 10/10. We were served by Sanod (something silimilar name i think not sure start with S for sure) He was so good at his service. He knew how to be good host, with a smile in his face. you really feel you came at the right place to be treated nice. We will go again and again, as this restaurant became my one of fav now. Amazing place!! Do visit!!More

I'm sorry to say that since the original owners sold this Indian restaurant in September 2018 it no longer serves the fantastic food it used too. We used to rave about the food here and were devoted customers for about 7 years but since the...new owners took over the food is probably up there with the worst Indian food we have ever had since living in Canada. Come back Das and Bachar PLEASEEEE. We gave them three chances and the food was awful, so will no longer be a customer and warn others that the Koh I Nor is no longer the great Indian restaurant it was and we would sadly urge you all to give it a miss!!More

Not being familiar with Indian dishes we ordered one of a few dinners for two combinations that are offered on the Dine-in menu. Ours included vegetable samosa and onion bhaji appetizers, nan bread, tandoori chicken, mixed vegetables and shrimp biryani. This was one of our...most enjoyable dining experiences in Waterloo. Delicious and great value. Take your friends!More
