Bought a sandwich for later and was happy I did. The bread was fresh, spicy and crispy...think might have been a croissant pastry? Fresh vegies, grilled chicken, humus.

Great food but really expensive, seems to be The Norm in Nelson now to charge as much as You can for Food n drink. Slice pizza and a drink $8 donut almost $2. Piece of cake 4-6 dollars.

While the prices here were a little high, the chocolate hazelnut torte I had was really good. I don't know if I would come back just because the prices were so high. It's a really great bakery though with lots of local flavor

Well, wow! The burger had a spelt bun(yum!) with local beef patty. The kale salad accompanying it was delightful and healthy, which made me feel less guilty for eating the most delicious long john EVER. Nothing in the donut was too sweet: the chocolate was real, and the filling was like cream cheese mixed with whipping cream mixed with vanilla.... More

As someone who isn't extremely into gluten free quinoa vegan etc. food, I didn't find much on the menu that was right up my alley. The soup I did settle on was tasty and fresh, but I found it pretty costly for the portion size, though no doubt the ingredients were all very special. The place was busy, though, and... More

Went in for a juice and a breakfast sandwich. Just plain good, fresh ingredients, simple preparation. It was great, as was the service. Thank you.

Kootenay Bakery Cafe has a great selection of baked goods and a nice variety of other dishes for lunch. It's not just sandwiches but also includes rice bowls packed with healthy choices. It's really busy at lunch during the summer. Order at the counter, find a table, and enjoy.

We picked up items for dinner on two nights out of our week in Nelson. I have a lot of food intolerances and the pies from Kootenay Bakery were tasty and produced no nasty side-effects, so a definite winner for me.

I love this bakery because it always a wide selection of pastries to satisfy all tastes. The staff is helpful and friendly. I've never had any of the lunch options, but the food looks delicious.

Loved that we were so welcomed here even though we had two dogs with us. It's a busy place with many great healthy snacks meals and baked goods. Decor is not really anything. You don't need decor in a place filled with helpful friendly caring staff. They set out a water bowl for our dogs on the street cafe side... More
