I don't know what was better, the atmosphere or the food. Lots of cool memorabilia (especially if you're a John Wayne Fan). And if you"re a breakfast fan, you'll be even more impressed. They passed the poached egg test (soft but not runny), and the blueberry pancakes were fantastic.

Love this restaurant. It has stood the test of time, as I have been coming here for over 20 years. Bread is to die for! As are the soups.

We went here for lunch and weren't sure what to order. Everyone around us was getting soup with bread so that's what we chose too. It was a great choice. The soup was hearty and filling and the fresh bread was amazing. The only drawback was that it was kind of expensive. There weren't a lot of choices in the... More

Terrible service & grumpy server. We did arrive there for lunch at around 12:15 so it was indeed busy at that time but started to clear out soon after & still it took 45 minutes to get served our "half" sandwiches. Only then were we told that we should have helped ourselves to the soup that we had ordered at... More

For starters they know the importance of serving food warm. We traveled for 2 weeks in British Columbia and Alberta. We were fortunate to eat breakfast here at the start and end of our vacation. The food was always served warm and was very flavorful. My hubby had omelettes both times and loved them. Served with hash browns which he... More

My friend and I stopped in for lunch in a Wednesday around 1:30. It wasn't super busy but our waitress acted like she hadn't seen so many people in one place before. She came to take our order in okay time but we made a joke about meatloaf sandwiches where meatloaf was the bread and she said she was really... More

It was Saturday at 12:30PM. Very busy lunch. The tables are crammed in too close so that no matter where you sit on the uncomfortable chairs you are bumped by other customers moving to get their soup from the self serve tureens. There were two wait staff. Should have been three and a bus boy. Our lunch took two hours.... More
