I like this cafe because of it's eclectic menu but had never tried a Sunday Brunch. Since I was going with a friend who was gluten free, the Atlas seemed like a good choice. While she was easily able to find a gluten free option, I chose the eggs benny...with bacon. And let's just say - Yum! I'm not a... More

Loved having dinner at this local cafe! The food choices were wonderful, ranging from Mexican to pasta to seafood and burgers. Soup or salad comes with most entrees and they were very tasty too. Prices seemed reasonable and we had two fabulous desserts after dinner (couldn't decide on just one!) The service was also good; I would go back without... More

Stopped in for lunch. Great service. Quick. And the best hot beet salad I've ever had. Gluten free options were clearly marked.

We stopped for a late dinner recently and ordered the Black and Blue Burger ( Grilled with blue cheese) and the Angel Burger with sliced pears on it. Both were very messy to eat but delicious! (Hint: Do not order this is you are on a date and trying to make a good first impression). This restaurant is partitioned in... More

I was taken to this restaurant for lunch as it was supposed to be the best in Courtenay. We were a group of 3 and arrived after 1pm thinking the lunch crowds would be done or close to done. We stood and waited for 35 minutes - my mother in law is 77 and there was very limited seating which... More

Took 3 newbies after raving about 2 prior visits.Exceptional food and service on previous visits. Didn't go well this time. 2 meals were so so and not warm. Took waiter 15 minutes to get water after requested. Charged $6.50 each for draft beer special was supposed to be $5. Was corrected when we questioned it. Expect better for meal prices.... More

Late lunch in Courtenay led us to discover the Atlas Cafe. Great little space in the heart of town. Focus on local and natural foods. We even had to ask for a straw for drinks as they are working to reduce their plastic footprint! Fish tacos were very good. The daily special was a chicken quesadilla which was very, very... More
