This restaurant was recommended to us by a local. They said the food was made fresh and had great flavour. They were absolutely right. My sandwich was packed with flavour. I loved the fresh bread, soups and pizzas. Would definitely go back!

The meal was quite good, but most memorable was the conversation with the two gentlemen that ran the restaurant. They were very happy to have each guest come in, sit down and enjoy the excellent service. They were very attentive, constantly checking on us without...More

This restaurant has the best atmosphere around. On hot summer evenings they open all of the front windows for a wonderful indoor/outdoor dining feel. They also have outdoor seating on the sidewalk or their deck (a platform placed in the parking area on the street)....More

We visited on a Saturday night without reservations and had no problem being seated. It would have been nice to sit on the patio, but the area is very small. Service was great throughout the meal. We had two pasta dishes, and you can tell...More

My 17 year old grandson were at The Loaf for lunch and we split a pizza. It came on a super-thin crust and was very tasty. The service was pleasant and efficient. I'd go back to The Leaf next time I go to Fernie.

Three of us stopped by for breakfast: All of us were delighted - Vegetarian Breakfast Bowl, Salmon Eggs Bennie & the feature omelette. Fresh veg, tasty salmon bennie and the omelette with sourdough was all delicious. Value was there - we'd recommend The Loaf!

Spectacular find with this great eatery in historic downtown Fernie. Cody our server was very knowledgeable and pleasant, rustic contemporary decor, house made breads and pasta exceeded expectations. $16-$25 entrees were delicious and large portions. Wish we had this place in Calgary, no room for...More

Hi Holly, hope this isn't too late to respond. The Loaf has a number of dairy-free options including soups and salads and most of the breads. The pizza dough is made with EV Olive Oil (no dairy) and many items can be... More

The Loaf has been growing and evolving for seven years, from a start-up in a miner's cottage to a firm favourite in Fernie's Downtown core. Owners Phil & Claire Gadd have always designed The Loaf to be accessible and affordable, a neighbourhood restaurant where everyone is welcome and feels comfortable, no matter what the time of day. With excellent food, made from scratch on the premises daily. Now its time for some changes: updating the interior to make a more comfortable dining experience, extending the list of craft beers and offering more wines and liquor and creating an environment where the focus is on exceptional food, good company and the relaxed dining experience. "Our perfect wish for Fernie is a place with craft beers, a good solid wine list by the glass, pizzas, pasta, and some other nice mains, but nothing too fancy. And that's exactly what we're aiming to do at The Loaf."
