We found ourselves in Gibsons one Sunday lunchtime and our first three choices were closed, and I love Szechuan, so...
We had the set lunches - lemon chicken with rice, and Szechuan chicken with noodles. You won't go hungry, the portion sizes are huge, but...you certainly won't come back. The lemon chicken was almost devoid of taste, apart from the fried peanuts, and the Szechuan chicken was even more bland - you'd expect chili fire, mouth-numbing peppers etc, but it was just... meh. It didn't help that both means (apart from the rice) were incredibly greasy, wih (what I suspect is) a cup of lard poured over them.
Several other people were eating the dayglo sweet and sour pork and seemed to like it, so perhaps we were both unlucky. It's a good place to fuel up if you are freezing, but it's not Szechuan cuisine.More
