Beautiful Pub, food, staff and management. Had a meal today and it was excellent, couldn’t fault it, especially as they were very busy, all the tables were pretty much taken and they were still offering tables to walk-ins. I do not know what the last...More

Tried the barn again today for Father’s Day as I had heard it had been taken over last year. We were all very disappointed with our roast dinners. The Yorkshire puddings were very cold and stodgy. I had 3 very small slices of chicken. The...More

We had been out all day and passed the Chestfield Barn and decided to go in for something to eat. Looking at some of the reviews on here, even if it didn’t come up to expectations I don’t understand why people would want to damage...More

Description
The Chestfield Barn originated as part of the Chestfield Manor in the 14th Century, a possession of the half-brother of William the Conqueror, Odo, Bishop of Bayeaux. It is believed that the Manor dates back to as early as 1084, particularly as it is mentioned in the Doomsday Book of 1086. In the early part of the 20th Century the barn was converted in to a golf house by Abe Mitchell to service the 700 acre golf course constructed in 1924 by George Reeves. The 14th Century barn is now a pub restaurant offering a traditional and contemporary menu of freshly prepared dishes using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
