- What we ordered (MAINS) Fish pie Chicken and mushroom pie (Drinks) Pale Ale Dark Bitter We have been here before and love the country vibe, it's a traditional country pub with friendly bar staff, table service and is dog friendly. Great for all the family. The traditional wood fires give it a lovely homely feeling along with locally brewed... More

Having heard good reports about this pub I've not visited for a long time I was looking forward to lunch and a pint at the Ship Inn We arrived about 7 mins after the 2.30pm cut off time for lunchtime food. The barmaid was busy delivering food to a table - a chap busy with his device at the bar... More

I must have read and re-read this review 20 times, and I am still no nearer to understanding what we did to offend you so much. We offer an excellent lunch service for two and a half hours Monday to Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday. The 'owner' did apologise and said 'I'm sorry but we have stopped serving... More

It is a must to book this very busy country pub, the bar is quite small but pleasant and supports a great range of W R LEES ales served in very good condition. The dining area's are nicely situated in the pub away from the busy bar which is frequented by walkers. The staff coped well on the day but... More

Returned to the Ship Inn on Sunday for a delious roast, my favourite place. The home made Bakewell tart was amazing. There is a new winter menu which we looked at and will be going back to sample in the very near future. I can honestly say I cannot recommend this place highly enough, a hidden gem in a lovely... This establishment is one of the best pub type restaurants that I have visited. The interior is rather rustic in appearance but the menu has one of the best selections I have seen, giving the term "spoilt for choice" a literal meaning. Portions are generous, and service provided by pleasant and efficient staff. We have visited a few times since... More

Great food, good company! A must if you are in the area! Not many pubs and hotels are animal friendly, this one is..... a great place in the country. One that is well worth a drop in!

Excellent food, cosy environment, reasonable cost and friendly service. Also note it is dog friendly though I didn't take one.

Nice pub good beer and wine great food. Friendly staff. We had to book a table as the pub was very busy. The pub took in dog walkers, hikers and cyclists. And our dog had choice of 2 meals sausage or chicken with rice so he ate with us which was nice for a change. The serving staff are great... More

When I first booked (by phone) I had estimated that we would be 15-20 in number. As it was a nice day on the day, it turned out there were 26 of us. We took our food order in at 10am today before starting the walk: a wide variety from the menu, and said we would be back at about... More
